Wisconsin fans trying to diminish skinner would take her in an absolute heartbeat over TTA lmao Y’all are a joke Again my vote is for Franklin but skinner is equally deserving and truly I wouldn’t mind either or both winning The real question is whether Wisconsin fans would take her over Franklin. And honestly, I think the answer is probably no, from a truly* objective standpoint. Because Franklin's passing is absolutely necessary for Wisconsin to succeed and passing half the court at a 2.15 (not amazing, but needed for us) is not something I think Skinner could do. On the flip side, if I were Texas I absolutely wouldn't take Franklin over Skinner. Skinner's ability to just overpower the block allows her to be the main option over 6 rotations, a role which I think Franklin would not be as good in and which Texas badly needs. Basically, the two teams play different systems and that necessitates different skill sets. I prefer Franklin because the system requires her to be more well rounded. But I recognize that is not the criteria whomever makes the decision uses. Wisconsin would not have the opportunity it has in a different system. Pick your poison.

I tried a Google search for "AVCA D1 Player of The Year selection criteria". The search produced nothing of the sort. This was the first result: There is no higher individual honor the AVCA names than its national player of the year. The recipients, chosen by a committee of head coaches for each collegiate level, demonstrate the very best our sport has to offer.I then took a look at the 2022 announcement for Logan Eggleston: Logan Eggleston led the top-ranked Longhorns back to the national championship final for the ninth time in school history en route to winning the 2022 AVCA Division I Player of the Year award.
The senior put together a very impressive, well-rounded 2022 season [emphasis added] as she had 5.03 points per set (ranks in the top 15 nationally), 388 kills, 4.22 kills per set, a .295 hitting percentage, 1.75 digs per set, 62 blocks, and 42 aces. Earlier this season she became the school’s career leader in aces.
This is the third-straight season Eggleston has been an AVCA First-Team All-American and the third-consecutive time she earned Big 12 Player of Year honors.
Eggleston’s 2022 Stats: 5.03 P/S, 388 Kills, .295 Hitting %, 42 Aces, 1.75 B/S, 62 Blocks [emphasis by AVCA] It appears The Committee was aware of all the stats and essentially considered her entire body of work for 2022 to be the best.
Make of this what you will. I'm sticking with Sarah.

That's an astute take on Franklin and Skinner.
Irrelevance and stupidity aside, I'm sure the broken-down Badgers, lacking for talent and at the tail-end of another miserable season, are wishing they could follow your "advice". Unfortunately, they're stuck with the team that swept Nebraska. You should probably focus on Pitt. We'll see if you're laughing you a-- off after that match.

True, but that is very much the exception. Bricio and Stacey Gordon (Co-NPOY) are the only ones to not make the Final Four since Bev Oden in 1990.
