I think it’s actually really courageous the AVCA decided to ignore stats this year for All Americans and NPOY like when they put vvg as a 2nd team AA last year

The use of passing stats to justify Franklin’s award is interesting considering the best passer in the nation didn’t even make a region team Especially considering the fact that they gave the exact same award to Logan and her passing was worse than Skinners??😵💫

Texas players just don’t get NPOY very often (used to be never).
It almost feels like Texas is expected to have that caliber of player

It almost feels like Texas is expected to have that caliber of player I did a quick search, I think Logan Eggleston was the only one ever. That seems crazy, is that correct? Nebraska has had 3 with the last one being in 2006. (Sarah Pavan)

Why? Skinner is amazing but it's still the National Player of the Year award, not the Better of Two Players in a Two Hour Time Frame in Tampa in December award. Madi has the better stats on the season? The comment was in response to saying it was unfortunate that NPOY was voted on before the game last night. Not arguing Skinner vs Franklin. I'm arguing that a single matchup shouldn't be the determining factor for NPOY.

It makes sense to free her up and take some responsibility off passing because she's a top point scorer (and better than Franklin at it)

(Sarah Pavan) yes, first and only Alex Jupiter, Alaina Bergsma, Krista Vansant, and Micha Hancock won when Eckerman was in school Sarah Pavan, Foluke Akinradewo, Nicole Fawcett, and Megan Hodge were the awardees when Destinee Hooker was in school for Texas

It makes sense to free her up and take some responsibility off passing because she's a top point scorer (and better than Franklin at it) Franklin did pretty well at BR attacks the latter half of the season. But the badgers had no option but to use Franklin as a primary passer, so there is no way to protect her like Texas does for Skinner. That means she's often not available except in transition.
