But Skinner attacks from back-row and D-Ball. It makes sense to free her up and take some responsibility off passing because she's a top point scorer (and better than Franklin at it) Franklin did pretty well at BR attacks the latter half of the season. But the badgers had no option but to use Franklin as a primary passer, so there is no way to protect her like Texas does for Skinner. That means she's often not available except in transition. True…but thats also a testament to how good she is that they are able to rely on her in that situation where other players couldnt be so they would have to change their entire defensive scheme

Especially considering the fact that they gave the exact same award to Logan and her passing was worse than Skinners??😵💫 Stop…statistically it may have been worse but lets not pretend that Skinner doesnt get hidden defensively and in serve receive…Eggleston had alot more responsibility just like Franklin so the stats are skewed Are we sure she’s hidden on defense? Genuinely asking because I see the good sis flying around back right, and she’s been holding up well in my opinion.

I'm pretty sure they would have done the same. But given the players on the bench and the 6-2, they didn't have those things.

I wished she would played to the level of this award last night... Skinner is looking at this with a side eye, and I don't blame her.

Madi isn't hidden defensively at all, she actually is much better than Logan at digging. But she is absolutely not passing with the same load as Eggleston.

Eggleston passed 311 balls last year, Skinner passed 297 this year. It's very comparable.

The use of passing stats to justify Franklin’s award is interesting considering the best passer in the nation didn’t even make a region team Welcome to the AVCA's dumb awards. I've said it many times, but no sport does a worse job with its awards than NCAA volleyball does.

Why? Skinner is amazing but it's still the National Player of the Year award, not the Better of Two Players in a Two Hour Time Frame in Tampa in December award. Honestly, tournament performance should not be considered for NPOY. It's even dumber that only four rounds of the tournament are considered. Somehow, football and basketball do their awards without needing to see who made the Final Four or the CFP championship game first. Postseason awards already exist.

And Skinner was not the best player this year, Franklin was.And I honestly don't think it was as close as some are saying it is
