Yah there’s no debate here. Skinner takes it, regardless of whatever she (or Texas) does Thursday. Good for her!

This is going to be so interesting. Franklin is the better passer, but their defensive numbers are similar. Skinner has more kps, but a slightly lower hitting percentage. Franklin shoulders way more passing but has WAY more around her offensively. Skinner IS Texas offensively, but only passes half the time (at a worse percentage). Who do you give it to? since Sarah is less of Wisco offense and still has 4.17 kps that should be in her favor.

post them in his thread maybe?? Madi Skinner: 4.79 kps (.298) 0.36 saps (38 aces, 48 errors) 1.95 dps 0.66 bps 5.81 points per set Sarah Franklin: 4.19 kps (.305) 0.19 saps (28 aces, 38 errors) 1.94 dps 0.53 bps 4.91 points per set Merritt Beason: 3.86 kps (.293) 0.25 saps (29 aces, 55 errors) 2.09 dps 0.86 bps 4.97 points per set I'm a little surprised Merritt is as close to the other two as she is. I expect it'll be decided between Sarah and Madi in the national semi head to head. That said, there's no doubt Merritt has been the glue that's held together the Husker freshmen--too bad there's not a stat for that.

Do they vote before the Semi’s or after? Curious if the outcome of Wisc v Texas could affect anything.

Gotta fo with Franklin…to me i like all around players that affect the game in differnrt ways..just like Eggleston did last year… ? Skinner plays almost identical to Eggleston in terms of their role playing and all around game? not even close. Skinner is hidden in much of the passing. Jenna was passing until Texas FINALLY realized that wasn't working. Madi stepping in a few more rotations now, but up until recently was passing very little and squeezed out. Franklin is a true two passer rotation player (now). Can't equate passing with numbers.

I mostly pay attention to Big 10 during the regular season so I didn’t even have Skinner on the radar for this. Watching her in the tournament has been a pleasure. Both women are very deserving. I feel like in the past the committee has favored the tournament performance more which would edge Skinner I’d think.

it’s the way Pukis and Skinner are my two favorite players in the country lmao (that I don’t have an Arizona connection with) today was a good day for me. even with the tough Oregon loss No fr like I’ve always loved Pukis but after watching her today and Thursday I was like FLOOOOREDT. Some of the reads she was making?? The way she scored on like 12 different dump variations tonight?? And the way she was firing first tempo sets to the pins while falling on the ground, chucking it behind her on the slide and red, and flying around on D had me in a chokehold. If she’s not playing in Serie A1 next month I will be livid Not to mention she saw a net violation no one else did and forced her coach to challenge which led to reversal and 2 point swing. That's on top of 6 kills, 10 digs and 12 assists in game 3.

Beason is a great player, but is also an Opposite Hitter, so comparing her stats with Outside Hitters Skinner and Franklin isn’t entirely valid.

I'd go Franklin. Numbers are maybe a slight edge to Skinner but Sarah has carried the Badgers to win in massive matches (regular season and tournament) and is the more rounded player. I'll be happy for Madi if she wins though, she's a great player and has really carried Texas this year.

Skinner is definitely the tournaments Most Outstanding Player but I still think POY will go to Franklin for the larger role she plays on Wisconsin.

I don't get people who say Franklin plays a larger role for Wisconsin. Skinner IS Texas Volleyball this year (Asjia is doing great as well, but MBs don't make the same impact, getting fewer swings and only being in 3 rotations). This isn't a knock on Franklin--she's just got more hitters around her

Jill Gillen. She did more heavy lifting in more ways to get her team not just into the playoffs but all the way to the Elite 8 than any of the players listed did on teams loaded with other elite players.
