Skinner is definitely the tournaments Most Outstanding Player but I still think POY will go to Franklin for the larger role she plays on Wisconsin. I don't get people who say Franklin plays a larger role for Wisconsin. Skinner IS Texas Volleyball this year (Asjia is doing great as well, but MBs don't make the same impact, getting fewer swings and only being in 3 rotations). This isn't a knock on Franklin--she's just got more hitters around her Only because she passes more, in terms of share of the load Skinner carries more of it... Percentage of team kills: Skinner 35.7% Franklin 29.3% Percentage of team Attacks: Skinner 33.2% Franklin 31.8% Percentage of team Serve Receptions: Franklin 34.8% Skinner 15.1% Percentage of team Digs: Skinner 14.5% Franklin 12.9%

I personally would vote for Franklin
However skinner winning would be fine too and she’s equally deserving
I don’t want to go back, but when’s the last time two players from the same team won back to back?
Was it penn state with fawcett and hodge?

Oh no…Texas hides Skinner defensively…Eggleston could play any position and wasnt a weak link also how do you “hide” someone defensively… are you getting confused with serve receive and defense again? they are

I think it's obvious: 2.31 kps on 0.450 hitting, with 1.06 blocks per set and statistically one of the best passers on her team as a six rotation MIDDLE...

Did Skinner have a serious question about whether or not she was going to have to medically retire before the season started? The media loves a great story, and that could tip the scales in Sarah’s favor a bit.

I'd go Franklin. Numbers are maybe a slight edge to Skinner but Sarah has carried the Badgers to win in massive matches (regular season and tournament) and is the more rounded player. I'll be happy for Madi if she wins though, she's a great player and has really carried Texas this year. Lol, Franklin carrying to win massive matches in the tournament? Uh, I think Skinner carrying (neutral) vs. Tennessee and at Stanford on those hit %’s is much more impressive than what Franklin did against Oregon and Penn State at home.

Jill Gillen. She did more heavy lifting in more ways to get her team not just into the playoffs but all the way to the Elite 8 than any of the players listed did on teams loaded with other elite players. I disagree. Gillen has a Head. Not a lot of teams have that help, 1-2 duo.

Anyway, who was the actual best player in the country? We know it was Jordan Thompson in 2019.

I would give it to Franklin because what she does two ways (in serve receive and on offense) makes UW *work* and I'm not sure who would be able to replicate that - maybe Mruzik?
If you switched the two players, I think Wisconsin is worse and Texas is just as good, if not a bit more solid.
