I thought we haven't won a title because we're always missing something. Like in 1998 and 1999 we had Heather Bown but no left-side hitters who could terminate. Then we had Lily and Kim from 2000-2003 but no middle attack or block for that matter. Now this past two years we're back to having no left-side terminator but a good block and middle attack.
We just haven't had the right combination at the right time. If we had Lily and Kim last year we probably would've won the title or if we had Prince in 2003 we might've been able to beat Florida in the final four.

These Wahine are so inconsistent you never know what to expect. Every time someone seems to step up and starts to have some success, they just as suddenly seem to lose it. This revolving door into the starting lineup seems to be wreaking havoc on the team. I don't know that I would blame Shoji for this. The players have to find some consistency in their performances too.

I cannot believe these comments. As if the WAC streak were honestly in any doubt?! C'mon... this is NOT Florida and this is not the SEC.

There has been some Sarah Mason bashing on this board and some sniping early in this match. But she sure was a difference maker tonight when she replaced Arnott. She is turning out to be the most consistent of all Hawaii outside hitters. At least she terminates....

Scott Robbs said this was the first home loss for NMSU in about 3 years. I'm sure the team is just happy to be going back home after the longest road trip of the season. I listened to portions of the match on the radio and I think he said the first 2 games were about the worst he's seen the team this year. Crowd was about 6000.
I don't think they will lose another WAC home match this season.

At least she terminates.... at most she terminates. it still does not make up for her errors in other areas. she constantly passes terrible and constantly serves out. if i were coach mason would sit. her line looks real good but her play sucks

She did not make any more service errors than any other Wahine this particular game. I remember one while listening to the broadcast. Prince made about three or four. Did you see the game personally? I keep reminding people like you. She was INJURED at the beginning of the year. She is improving rapidly in all aspects of her game. Her play in the last four games has been very good. As I said before, I am glad Shoji makes the personnel decisions.

Listening in on KKEA was an experience tonight. Wahine girls running into each other, long serves, wide hits, bad passes, lousy sets... stroke of luck... Hawaii still won? Are those girls in pain? The announcer was pretty critical of the playing, and righlty deserved. Where is the fire on this team? Any healthy girs on the bench?

(just my opinion)

Let's not make assumptions like this without taking everything into consideration. Especially since, it's long been claimed (and I agree) that the NCAA system of stat-keeping leaves a lot to be desired for telling us the full story of the match.

Give Sarah some time to adjust. She's new to the team and not used to Kanoe's sets yet. Still, she's holding her own.
