also couldn't be more happy for Kaylei especially this match had to feel good What was the drama with her and Nebraska? Think it was that she was expecting (and honestly deserved) a scholarship for the 2022 season, and cook didn't allot her one. So she looks out for herself and transfers to texas, and cook was shady and said he "didn't see her transfer coming" and that "she left bc she wanted to play libero somewhere else", the latter of which is a lie and conveniently leaves out him snaking a schollie from her. Cook is literally so shady but he thinks he's slick. |

I’d say if your a coach at a top team and you are not actively trying to better your team with the portal you are hurting your team and not doing your job. I also guess Cook forgot that perhaps his best player transferred in this year. the best player who hit negative vs Pitt and Texas ? 😭 |

Those of you saying players from the losing team should not have to be there… STOP IT. Part of being an athlete is to accept losses even when you are embarrassed.. put your big girl pants on and give credit where credit is due. Texas out played you. As far as Cook and O’Neil doing USA.. if he had an athlete that was doing that he would not apologize. He would puff out his chest and say something like “When you come to Nebraska those opportunities are there” As far as the portal.. he needs to keep quiet. As has been said he has used the portal as well. How does a team combat a team that has the #1 recruiting class.. go build a team in the portal.. totally legal and ethical. Nebraska’s freshman setter played on the senior national team this summer in the VNLs. She may have set O’Neal a match. 😀 Can’t be mad about it or comment on it like it’s an exception just when it happens for the team that beat you. Nebraska player had the same opportunity. Nebraskas setter did not go to the NVL. She went to NORCECA which is a very different tourny (lower level). |

I don’t like that they make players of the losing team do this immediately after losing. It’s hard to watch. I agree. It makes the players come across very short and rude. Which as we all know is not the case. They’re going through insane emotions, and to be quite frank, some of the questions are stupid. “How long will this last with you, when will you get over it” Like wtf? |

Cook really shouldn’t go there. At all. He’s had transfers in to help Nebraska since Kelsey Robinson came from Tennessee her senior year. Also, I recall he poached a great middle from LSU (?) several years back. And isn't Beason a transfer as well? Cook is the biggest hypocrite in college volleyball. And his tears taste delicious.
Yes, Beason is a transfer from Florida. Next thing we’re going to read here is a criticism of Florida for not preparing Merritt for this. Players should be at the press conference. Signs that the apocalypse is near is the view that everyone should be shielded from talking about a loss after suffering one. Face the music and own the fact that the other team was better today. Overall, I thought Cook handled this well and was very complimentary of Texas, Tampa and the NCAA. He did throw a little shade at the officials about O’Neal’s throws and the transfers. As to the latter, those living in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones. Lastly, Beason should have absolutely been on the dais. As a leader (ironic as that’s one of the reasons she announced she wanted to move on from Florida due to having to be a team leader so early) she should have answered the press’ questions today. Period. |
