When does the actual "Bingo" come? I mean, he doesn't do that poll and then not have a Bingo right? Maybe he's going to withhold it since the winner of the poll was Mario... š³š Thought for sure I'd wake up to it.

Why would he know when the bingoās come? For all we know he was just getting people hyped for when the contact period opens. Which isnāt for a few days, right?
Also, I honestly donāt hear a lot of options for a transfer that would suit the badgers. Acevedo and Guershing were probably the best options out there, and Iām not sure he was after the latter.

Admission: I haven't tried to wrap my mind around all the nuance involved in the recent NCAA changes. So, I can't even begin to address the issues raised in another thread:
"Is 2026 class going to bring back underclass recruiting? With D1 likely going to 16 -18 scholarships, does the June 15th call have massive offers going out? What wild fast change is happening?
It's all still rather nebulous. The ADs/Presidents haven't figured out what the roster caps will be yet, so there may not be a hard and fast answer to that for a few weeks. I'm hearing maybe a decision from the President's/AD/Judge around June 25th."
I'm sure Sheff knows everything there is to know in this context. Might he be waiting for a new infusion of players to choose from before the fall season begins?

New Punzel article this AM, plenty of info:
Sheffield is looking to put together a class of four or five players, all front row attackers. He could see getting two outside hitters, two middle blockers and a right side...
After a dead period for the month of May, they got a chance to get one last look at seven of the top 40 players who attended camps in the past week at the UW Field House. They included outside hitters Layli Ostovar (No. 9 Prep Dig), Gabby DiVita (No. 10) and Haley Burgdorf (No. 40) and middle blockers Lynney Tarnow (No. 6), Brooke Harwood (No. 23), Ella Andrews (No. 25) and Kendall Northern (No. 26)...
For the record, Sheffield will not be making any calls at 12:01 a.m. Rather, he and his staff will reach out to roughly 12-15 prospects, starting with an email to try to arrange a convenient time to set up a Zoom call with a player...
āThatās one of the beauties of the (transfer) portal. If they donāt have high-end talent, potential, skill, character, inner drive, weāre not just going to get a player on the roster in that class just because we have a scholarship. We have no problem holding off and going in a different direction.ā

I'll put a lot of money on him knowing a Bingo is coming. I'm gonna guess he's got one but there's something he's waiting for to announce it. Could a '26 have already told him, "Don't worry coach, I'm gonna be a Badger"? If that's the case kinda seems like that poll would be teetering on rule breaking yes?

Heās going to put out offers on the 15th - quite a few because the badgers have quite a few spots to fill. The question is whether you preemptively flood the zone with (probably) conditional offers in anticipation of the scholarship limit increasing by some amount. If Texas has 4 more schollies to fill, do they swamp the market and load up with 16 top players, and 2-3 on NIL. And how do those offered even make decisions when they have offers from everybody? How will NIL even be regulated? Having Rettke and Carlini make the Olympic team doesnāt hurt Wisconsinās chances here.

Expecting it to happen when the poll date ended today doesnāt make sense.

Maybe it was the same situation with Guershing, as she choose Miami yesterday, the same day as Sheffieldās āsort ofā bingo.

We got pictures of Acevedo visiting and not a peep about Guershing from anywhere, that I could tell, except some hopeful posts on this thread. I have a hard time believing he was that confident that he would land her. I think it's most likely that he is just trying to build excitement for the offer period coming up.

Could it be a foreign transfer, and he's waiting for visa/acceptance into UW before officially bingo-ing?

Could it be a foreign transfer, and he's waiting for visa/acceptance into UW before officially bingo-ing? That could certainly be happening. But good luck timing a bingo with USCIS!

Apparently Dana and Lauren killed it the last VNL match against The Netherlands. Dana was 10-1-12 and Lauren played really well all around

She was playing with a real freedom that I haven't felt from her in a while.
