They'll probably do another official one this time with CC, Devyn and Julia in it too and post it on the official Badgervb account. Look at Sarah’s stories there’s a professional photographer taking pics of them. Why would they jump twice and not wait for the other girls? That certainly doesn’t make sense I think that's David Stluka, longtime UW sports photographer. Nice guy, great photographer. ------- Also, the jump is usually done after the formal team photo is taken. So assuming that happened today (and a cloudy day makes for flat light and less squinting --> better photo), the other must have been there...

Per Sarah's instagram story, Anna, Carly and she jumped in the lake today. Not sure where CC, Devyn, and Julia were—maybe they had classes? View AttachmentView AttachmentConfirmation of inter team fighting, chemistry is horrible, they all hate each other and punched eachothers left boob. Sheff is scrambling.

The posted video only features Sarah, Anna and Carly jumping. They were dry standing on the dock, so let’s assume they didn’t do it with the rest of the group before, unless they changed uniforms? Trinity filmed it. Right. Take the team photo, take individual photos, then jump in the lake. SOP.

We can use a little levity around here.
Meanwhile, Charlie is getting ready for her debut as player-coach and Sheff is completing his essay assignment for Chris McIntosh:

Well Sarah posted the video of just those 3 on Tik Tok with the caption “senior lake jump 🤍” Does this mean we get to keep CC, Devyn and Julia for another season 😂

Maybe we can borrow Madison Quest from her high school for this weekend. She's right in the area of Fiserv right? Ask her to swing through.

It’s been a strange year.

First game of the year. Most teams will not be holding both Sarah & Anna to .183 & .161 hitting percentages. I’d almost argue once they both are feeling themselves after these little ankle tweaks that it never happens again. The OH2 spot will eventually be filled by Julia who was our OH2 for a national championship team & normally a +.200 hitter. The passing of our littles remains to be this groups largest issue, but they are generally young (minus gg) & need time to work it out. Like someone else said, we chose to start the season with a gauntlet. We could’ve easily began playing teams like Milwaukee & Troy to work on our cohesiveness before big matches. It matters how we play in December Dont mean to be nit picky but all last year Franklin was OH2 postion. I think you mean Julia will be other starting OH. But unless Wisc. Changes up tactics Franklin has been playing OH2 And julia and the other night the fresh. OH were playing in OH1 spot.

It all brings to mind... I often used to run through Camp Randall as one of my regular routes, through the walkway at the north end of the stadium. And I remember at least three times seeing Sheffield and Carlini standing at the door to the 'engineering parking ramp' deep in conversation, like they had finished practice, and were walking to their car/moped and just kept on talking (so I kept going and didn't interrupt). Sheffield and Charlie will find a way to communicate effectively - if they haven't already - and it will be fine. It would be both scary and great to think Charlie is more head-strong than Carlini... :-)

Do we know if any of the 2025 recruits are graduating early and coming to Madison for the spring?

I guess it depends on who you think your starting setter is - or who stays in when you run out of subs. I don't think it mattered last year. But this year it does matter, and Sarah was definitely in the OH2 position.

With as bad as we played, it was 24-24 in the third set and we had a swing to go up 25-24 to get set point. That’s with our two best hitters hitting under .200. It might take till the end of the season, but I still believe this group’s final version is going to the final 4 if not more, though all these tough early matches might mean we’ll have to do it on the road in the regionals.

I just hope our road doesn't go through Austin or Lincoln. Anywhere else, I'm going to like our chances. Sure, there's a chance we don't gel in the end and in that case someone else is going to deserve it more. But I believe in our talent and heart.
