wahooo Madison Quest wins her 3rd volleyball state championship!! First time any D1 school in Wisconsin has won 3 consecutive titles I saw Kristen Simon's team won state as well. I believe back to back. Does anyone know if any of the 2025 commits will be enrolling early? An earlier Dennis Punzel article on Quest did state that she was graduating early and enrolling in the spring. She might be our go-to hitter as a freshman.

OK, Badgers. Bonehead question from a Gopher here, but I watched some of the match yesterday, and at a certain point I got really confused because I feel like somehow all three of their middles were playing (Booth/Crawford/Robinson with Smrek then on the right)? I didn't pay close enough attention to see how they were doing the substitutions. Am I hallucinating? Booth was at one middle position, and Devyn and CC split time as the other middle. Sort of a 1.5 rotation for each, subbing directly for one another. Think of it as a CC for serve and defense, and Devyn for offense. Smrek is the opposite, but often hits or blocks from the middle, sliding back and forth. Thank you. Did they do this against Nebraska?

Let's get those passing reps in next to Lola, Una and GG, line up that block with Carter and Tosia, and hammer out that connection with Chuck.

Does anyone know if Horner or Simon are joining early? Maybe stretching it, but Horner posted a goodbye for good to club volleyball at the end of the spring 2024 season. So she's either just skipping the spring 2025 club season for some random reason or enrolling early. I'd bet the latter, but I have not heard or read anything anywhere that confirm it for sure. If she enrolls early, we should have the entire projected starting lineup together in the spring.

I'm betting we get a OH or OPP transfer to solidify our rotation being the inexperienced nature of our non-middle attackers next season. The projection for next season in my mind includes one of the top one or two OPPS/OH from the portal.

Unfortunately for us, Nebraska will also be looking for an oppo and well, I can't remember the last time we beast Nebraska to anyone. Texas will also be looking for pins, and well, we don't beat Texas to people either. And with the portal expected to dry up with all the COVID seniors gone mostly, I'm not sure there's enough talent for all.

I'm holding up hope that the chance to play with Charlie plus we got Franklin to come in. Its about opportunity, playing time, and NIL. Even if Texas and Nebraska beat us on some of the very top talents there should be talent available.

I bet they might have even looked at CC if she had given them the chance.

Wisconsin is set to have the most talented OH “group” in school history in 2026 with TSC, Una, Madison Quest, Audrey and Halle. Of course this prediction is with NO injuries and if no player enters the transfer portal.
So thankful Franklin came to Wisconsin and put in work to become a household name. I really do believe she will be apart of the USA WNT and play at LA 2028. Her presence has helped with recruiting OHs.

I bet they might have even looked at CC if she had given them the chance. There is zero evidence that Nebraska was going after any of those players. When Franklin was in the portal (and Franklin was nowhere close to the player she is now v back then), Nebraska had Kubik, Batenhorst, Lauenstein, and Krause returning, and was bringing in baby Kubik. The one schollie they had for the portal they got Hord. For TTA same thing. For Booth they already spent the schollies they had available on sniping Choboy from Minny and then grabbing Beason. The players that we do know that Nebraska do go after that we also do, we've lost them all. Hord, Beason, and Landfair. There's a difference between a player maybe calling up Nebraska like you're suggesting and Nebraska actively going after them. And we know that Nebraska will be actively going after an oppo if a good one is in the portal this spring since they have no one returning for that position AND the recruit they're bringing in is recovering from an ACL tear. We've not won a single battle head-to-head when Nebraska is actively going after someone. I don't know why people are trying to dispute this.

THESE STATS ARE INSANE
“Freshman sensation Charlie Fuerbringer guided an explosive offense that saw four starters attack at better than .400 efficiency and she chipped in 12 digs.
Sarah Franklin (.419) and 6-foot-9 Anna Smrek (.462) each cracked 13 kills. Julia Orzol (.526) had 11 winners and middle blocker Carter Booth (.857) went 6-for-7 with five blocks, three solo. Freshman libero Lola Schumacher notched 10 digs and an ace”
Carter (.857) CRAZY!!!
