I'm all for player development, but if there is someone better in the portal you can land that will give your team a better chance at success you go after them. Sometimes you have to have hard conversations with current players who just aren't cutting it.
With the renovated Memorial Coliseum and Skinner's success and player development there is no reason he shouldn't be able to go out and get some of the best players from the portal to strengthen the roster for next season imo.

I noticed Jewell and Lilley were following both Blackwell and Kjolhede on instagram. Could be nothing, but those two would be great additions for next season.

dont think goetzinger is coming back. maybe / hopefully skinner can convince her but going into the season she was intending for 2023 to be her last at Kentucky Was she planning on retiring after this year?
If she's transferring, I'm shocked she's not in the portal already. I also saw Williams transferring as a sign she didn't think she would start.
I would guess that she’s finishing a degree in the Spring and will enter the portal in the next window. People will still happily add her and many might have scholys come open then that aren’t open now. Credits don’t transfer to the degree that you can just finish up a degree at your next school. |

I might be mistaken here. But generally the athletes that go into the portal right now are moving over the winter and starting a spring term at their new school. We’ve seen younger kids in this window because credit transfer isn’t as impactful, or grads who have already finished a degree at their previous school. But maybe she needs to finish up her degree program at Kentucky this spring, so if she doesn’t go in the portal, she keeps her spring scholarship at UK and then goes in the spring window for a summer move. |

If you enter the portal before spring semester starts, they can pull your scholly. Moving the close date up to Jan 1. really impacted a lot of decisions. |

I know this is a risk other players face but there is no way in hell Craig Skinner would pull her scholarship for her final semester. She was a 4 year starter, won a title, she served her time. That's just inviting all sorts of nasty cosmic karma. As to why wait? Idk, could be a thousand reasons. Complete shot in the dark? Maybe graduating in the spring isn't a sure thing rn and she wants to firm that up a little before deciding. But none of us know. |

Do we think getting another MB will solve everything for UK in 2024? I think we need a more terminal OPP. I'm not sure how Wilson does on either pin in this offensive system. DeLeye is gonna be a straight stud this year and Lamb is very worthy. I believe in Bultema/Goetz or whoever they bring in but Bultema needs to play. She chose UK over very elite programs and want to see her in Blue for 4 more years. I think we should go after MB (for depth purposes if Goetz is back) and a terminal OPP. If Goetz isn't back, that's a whole new game and we need a stud MB and another for depth purposes.
