Nebraska will be playing a match the week before most teams start playing this Fall Assuming this is at Louisville, would they need a special waver to start early? If so it would be an ESPN/Disney match hopefully on linear network. Edit: Well, once again my guesses aren't worth much. Still waiting for the Nebraska-Louisville date and time to be finalized.

www.avca.org/event/2024-avca-first-serve-showcase/“ The first match of the 2024 AVCA First Serve Showcase will feature Nebraska and Kentucky. The Huskers were the 2023 NCAA runnerup and they return four AVCA All-Americans, while the Wildcats, who won the national title in the spring of 2021, are led by three-time All-American setter Emma Grome. Wisconsin then plays Louisville, in a battle of teams that have both made the NCAA semifinals two times in the last three years. The Badgers were national champions in the fall of 2021, and the Cardinals finished second in 2022. Each team returns three AVCA-All Americans from 2023.”

Cook on his negotiation: “When Troy and I talked about my contract, I proposed that instead of an annual escalating salary that some coaches do, it would mean a great deal to me if the Nebraska Athletic Department would consider supporting me in purchasing a horse out in central Nebraska that I’ve had my eye on. “The horse, called No. 415, was born and bred at the famous Pitzer Ranch in Ericson and is a once-in-a-lifetime performance horse. He was purchased as a weanling by Mark Wray and then trained by the Wray family. Troy loved the idea and while they couldn’t specifically write that into the contract, the retention bonus will be used for No. 415. I am honored that Troy was supportive of my idea and it means a lot to me. We are all looking forward to what should be an exciting 2024 season.” Looks like Bud's vacated assistant coaching slot will be filled by some guy named No. 415.

Bud was picked up in the transfer portal by Texas.

The linked "AVCA upcoming events" page that was posted no longer works as well. The original announcement said pre sale June 13 and on sale June 14. I am guessing something in the announcement wasn’t quite right, so they temporarily pulled it.

Nebraska will start the season at the Yum Center in Louisville, and hopes to end it there when the Yum Center hosts the final four. The Huskers also play Louisville in the Yum Center the weekend of September 21. An unusual year where they could be at that arena on three separate trips with the potential for playing four games.

Nice, thanks! Any info on tickets yet for that first match?
