At times, Landfair will likely serve and then get subbed out. Her serve is usually very good and her back row attack can be wicked, but it has not really been seen much since 2022. Or depending on the opponent and matchups, they go the DS route and opt for stellar floor defense. Options are good.

However Nebraska uses Landfair will be interesting. Maybe sheās the third option as the OH, and doesnāt see much playing time after all. Well, no. Donāt really understand. Before Krause was injured last October, she was coming off a B1G POW award and hitting .366 in the conference. Murray has her documented problems, but on the court she was the focus of almost every crucial point in every game of every match last season, and certainly played at a B1G FoY and 2nd team AA level. Both Murray and Krause were superior to Landfair in every metric in 2023. If Krause is back to 100% physical health and Murray continues her growth-before the choice to drink and get in her Audi-and both are taking sets from Reilly for the second year, I find it difficult to believe Landfair will catch either of them in 80 days. I question whether she will see much of the court come B1G season. Landfair is certainly going to have to return to her 2022 form. Maybe she will, and weāll see how it goes. So, well, yes. š

I felt like it was unreasonable that Cook left Landfair as vulnerable as he did in serve receive the whole match through. Maybe there was a long term strategy there. Help her develop resilience. Help make her more coachable. Maybe he truly thought sheād turn it around. But it made me sad watching her flounder out there in serve receive so egregiously. Texas targeted her something like 54 times. That can leave a mark. I'll be very surprised if landfill ever plays 6 at Nebraska. she would have to make major strides defensively and improve a little as a passer too (I think her defense is 10x worse than her passing) Please tell me "landfill" is an unfortunate typo LMAO Landfair actually had over 2 digs/set last year. That's more than Skinner, Franklin, Baird, and Stafford. No clue if teams were intentionally trying to hit toward zone 6 though.

Iāll gladly eat my words if Krause rolls out as the starter, because Iāll know Texas has a better shot at beating Nebraska if we meet in the tournament againš Krause is also a much worse passer than Landfair even for any rotations where theyāll be passing

Stafford and Franklin around 79%, and Baird was almost 81% I wanna say (somebody can fact check me if they want but theyāre all somewhere around there)

Fact check/ Look it up. As far as the passing goes, Cook this spring was quoted that her serve receive has improved significantly. Just like the players competing, Be hungry.

I guess the question is, what happens if Krause just looks better than Landfair heading into the start of the season. I mean obviously better. Does Landfair still get the start in that scenario, presuming she was brought in to start?

Does Landfair still get the start in that scenario, presuming she was brought in to start? In all honesty, all kinds of things can happen. There could be an injury. Someone could get arrested a couple more times. No telling. I cannot imagine John Cook playing Landfair because of some kind of perceived assurance sheād play. First of all, I donāt believe he gave that. Second of all, the guy wants to win another national championship. I am convinced the best player is going to play, and if someone struggles, heās not going to hesitate to go to his bench.

I think both OH spots will be competitive, and, IMO, the only way Murray assures her spot on the court is if she keeps up her passing clip. Nebraska staying in a 5-1 and keeping Beason six rotation gives Cook A LOT of flexibility for passing/backrow substitutions - Roddy and Choboy/Mauch can cover a lot of backcourt.

Her passing and backcourt defense are superior to Krause and Landfair. She will play 6 rotations. The only question for me is whether Cook makes her sit for one or more matches at the start of the season as punishment for her antics this Spring. I think the question will be who starts at OH2, Krause or Landfair? My guess is Landfair will win the job, but I don't think it is a lock. As others have said, Krause was playing very good volleyball before she got injured last year. If Krause is completely healthy, she will give Landfair a run for her money. I don't think either Landfair or Krause will play 6 rotations. In my opinion, neither of them are good in the backcourt.

Does Landfair still get the start in that scenario, presuming she was brought in to start? No way, imo if Krause is clearly better. The rest of the team knows what is going on in practice. You can't undermine the confidence of team when the mantra is you have to compete for your spot, period. Former All-American Lexi Sun got benched for a better player but still competed and did start and played a fair amount after it happened.
