I guess the question is, what happens if Krause just looks better than Landfair heading into the start of the season. I mean obviously better. Does Landfair still get the start in that scenario, presuming she was brought in to start? No way, imo if Krause is clearly better. The rest of the team knows what is going on in practice. You can't undermine the confidence of team when the mantra is you have to compete for your spot, period. Former All-American Lexi Sun got benched for a better player but still competed and did start and played a fair amount after it happened. I don't think Landfair transferred to sit the bench. I presume she had many other options. She wants to play and she wants to win and came to Nebraska to do so. Assuming Murray can get her personal life in order, she should no doubt be a starter. She is a great attacker but even more, she is strong in the backrow. I think that will be impactful. Does everyone think Pierce will redshirt or is she the dark horse that will come out and shock everyone?

I do not agree that there is no question that Landfair is starting over Krause. I think both OH spots will be competitive, and, IMO, the only way Murray stays on the court is if she keeps up her passing clip. I think Murray starts as OH1. Her passing and backcourt defense are superior to Krause and Landfair. She will play 6 rotations. The only question for me is whether Cook makes her sit for one or more matches at the start of the season as punishment for her antics this Spring. I think the question will be who starts at OH2, Krause or Landfair? My guess is Landfair will win the job, but I don't think it is a lock. As others have said, Krause was playing very good volleyball before she got injured last year. If Krause is completely healthy, she will give Landfair a run for her money. I don't think either Landfair or Krause will play 6 rotations. In my opinion, neither of them are good in the backcourt. As the best passer of the three options, Murray would seem to be the logical choice for the L2 spot. (This assumes she works through her legal and related issues and is in the mix for the 2024 season.) Compared to Murray, both Landfair and Krause seem to have more potential as terminal attackers and seem better suited for the L1 spot. Just my opinion.

thatās because Minnesota couldnāt side out (or block) at a level even close to the teams those players are on, therefore a lot more dig opportunities. she has worse dig percentages than every player you listed (and worse passing ofc) saying that, Landfair is starting over Krause and thereās no way itās even a question in John Cookās mind lol. winning B1G POW against a couple bad Michigan teams is not anywhere near the same as winning a B1G player of the YEAR award. Iāll gladly eat my words if Krause rolls out as the starter, because Iāll know Texas has a better shot at beating Nebraska if we meet in the tournament againš Krause is also a much worse passer than Landfair even for any rotations where theyāll be passing Krause hitting % in last 26 matches is .321. Fact check/ Look it up. As for as the passing goes, Cook this spring was quoted that her serve receive has improved significantly. Just like the players competing, Be hungry. Cook was also quoted saying Bergen and Kennedi were dead even last spring when that was FAR from accurate to anyone who knows volleyball that watched the spring match / Brazil games. He also raved about kubik being the second best passer on the team last spring and then she saw next to zero time the following season. Have heard him and Jaylen praise how great mendelson was for two years, yet she's never done much in her very limited opportunities as an MB. My point is, quoting cook is doesn't hold the weight you think it does lol

Seems like a lot of Landfair shade. Players look different with a better supporting cast . She has played at a very high level before and this team is loaded. Competitive gyms bring out the best in everyone.

Or do you just overlook it and say 2 matches against Michigan schools arenāt impressive to you? I think Cook has a tremendous respect for all his players and pushes the competitive nature of them all when pointing their strengths and encourages continuous improvement throughout the team. Are you calling Cook a liar? Do you believe him when he states in Kearney that the Murray situation is was out of his hands? Maybe if Reilly gets hurt this year you will find out he was right about Orr. Watch Tennessee and Penn State and you too may be impressed with development of Kubik and Mendelson. As far as Landfair not coming to stand on the sideline, do you think Krause stayed at Nebraska to stand on the sideline? She would be highly sought after if entered the portal. Technically, she still can after receiving her undergraduate degree in 36 months. Production not promise will determine the lineup. Culture of A Champion! Weāll see how it plays out. Lots of tremendous options all over the place.

I'm not participating in the argument of who's starting over who so rant about Krause to someone else lol, my post was never about her I was just pointing out things cook has said in the past that haven't translated whatsoever. And... YES cook is a liar that is literally public knowledge. Has no issue looking media in the face and lying. You can talk to Kayla caffey about that but I'm out of here lol I don't care enough to argue Ask anyone that has had a falling out and most will unload on the other person. Everybody knows that.

Actually aced twice (the same # as season total in 14 matches 2023 season)
did you watch more than the first 5 minutes? any other observations of that closed scrimmage?

Two long time best friends were hiking in the Alaskan tundra when suddenly they come across an angry grizzly bear. One of them takes off only to stop as he looks at his friend quickly taking off his boots and putting on his running shoes. āWhat are you doing? You canāt outrun a grizzly bear!ā The friend looks up with a flat look in his eyes and replies, āI donāt have to outrun that grizzly bear. I just have to outrun you.ā

I did a deep dive on YouTube and found a good one!
Here is a replay of the 1995 championship game against Texas in MUCH better quality than anything else you can find on YouTube. **PLUS** It's the radio broadcast with JB and Russ Rose!
Now if I could just find copies of the radio broadcasts of the 2000 and 2006 championships lol
