7 likes on Juan's sob story post. I bet that number goes down. Posts will get dirty-deleted. How do people read that and side with him after such an allegation? I'll let y'all get back to Nebraska volleyball but wtf? Because human beings are worthy of redemption, especially if they are being seemingly honest and forthcoming. Don’t do the moral superiority thing, if it comes out that it was all a lie then people can adjust, but I think being dismissive and judgy on principle is an AWFUL character flaw, maybe something to work on for you personally? We will be doing the moral superiority thing. You are actively harming victims by giving cover to their UNREPENTANT abusers. Why are folks in the volleyball community so eager to line up behind an abuser? I think that is an AWFUL character flaw.

Also, Bergen is kind of a question mark. I really can’t put my finger on it, but something is a little off there. She’s great. She does so many things right has a fantastic all-around game. Maybe I’m wrong. I don’t know. But something feels a little off, imho. Not really sure what it is. Ik we have the personalities on the court to where she can be that relaxed, laid back player that doesn't show much emotion, but during this type of set back and recent game part of me just wonders if maybe she (along with every person on the roster) needs to step it up a notch being the setter aka QB of the team. I don't necessarily mean step up her play, but leadership, poise, within being the glue to the team. Just a thought, maybe that isnt an issue at all. I also am biased bc I grew up watching Orr play since 7th grade, I would've loved to see her get thrown in there during the 3rd set. Sometimes I think Cook has a favortism issue, and I see it with Reilly and did with Hames. And yes, that also could be completely wrong. However, setting is not the main issue, just some of my thoughts! Most of Bergen's problem this year has been the result of poor passing. In the first two sets against Kentucky, the passing was not good. The passing against SMU was terrible the entire match. Bergen spent most of the SMU match sprinting to run down balls. No one is going to set well in those situations. Give her a decent pass and she will make an excellent set most of the time.

I've wondered this too. When we played SMU someone pointed out that it was already our fourth game in like six days. That's a lot for anyone, especially with travel. Exactly. I've wonder why they are playing tonight instead of Friday/Saturday. Thankfully the next 6 games are at the Bob, and that should help. Excalty what I've been saying, good thing we have 80 home games this year, lol

SMU against Hawai’i was serving tough, getting our passers out of system, thus having our setter Kate Lang running all over the court putting up mediocre sets at times. It was such a problem, Coach Rob had to implement a modified 6-2 to give Kate a rest as well as give her more instructions on set choices. Most of SMU’s serves were bullets, flat and deep. We were able to steady the passes as the match went on, but it was a nightmare.

my takeaways : - krause needs to move to the RS sooner if beason isn't cutting it and murray/landfair becomes the OH duo. i'm actually quite impressed with how lindsay has rebounded from injury. - blackwell needs to be used in matches like the one we just played, bottom line. - mauch vs. choboy is a tighter race than i expected, they have different strengths/weaknesses and bring different energies so i'm not sure what the coaching staff is going to do. olivia as a freshman is really, really good. - funnily enough, after mentioning maisie as "the best passer on the team", she was never inserted during a horrible passing match...just typical cook trying to boost B team morale by giving them compliments in pressers but not giving them the play time to back it up - no matter how much lexi and bergen are sucking, they won't be replaced unless injured

From what I heard Cook say their schedule was already set when the Kentucky AVCA showcase came up. Cook said he wanted to be a part of promoting the event (Nebraska draws viewers) due to the changes like shorter time outs, no line judges, amazing camera system, etc.

Are yall seriously calling for Lexi to be benched? I’ve seen some crazy things, lots of them on this very thread, but that’s a bit unhinged.

Seriously?

As much as I respect Coach Cook, I do take his comments about practice performances with a grain of salt.

As much as I hate to agree with a Texas and Minnesota fan in the same day, you are both right on. We Husker fans need to unclench a bit. The idea of benching two first team all Americans is insane. Also, I appreciate those who recognize that SMU balled out. They did everything well. They were as impressive as the Huskers were disappointing. That being said, there are certainly some issues with the team. I’m no sports psychologist, but it appears to me that the team is pressing. It would be natural to have a bit of a hangover when at the end of a magical season, when you are so very close achieving the ultimate goal, to get your ass kicked. I keep coming back to the comment Cook made about Harper on the E:60 documentary. Basically, he said she had never worked harder in practice, but there was no joy in her. It seems to me that the whole team may be in a similar place.

Cook is stubborn. Simple as that.
Does he know more about volleyball than I do? ABSOLUTELY
Is he an amazing coach at development? Absolutely
Does he make questionable decisions? absolutely
hes a stubborn mule who will have diarhea of the mouth at times, and sometimes I think his in game adjustments are poor
Nebraska will be fine though. IMO still a favorite to make the final four easily.
