has Landfair won the other outside spot for sure? love that for her if so Yuh! Landfair’s been putting on clinics during the past conference road matches against ranked opponents (Oregon and Wisco) by bringing absolute heat, beautiful angles, a variety of shots, and stuff blocks. Girl is progressing and thriving. 🥹

Agreed, I think Taylor just needed confidence, more training in a new role and to start really taking rips. I think her blocking will be massive going forward too. Just have to get over some of her head scratching errors lol. Fortunately she has recently followed it up with a monster kill.

Page 4 for the Nebraska thread, how the H does *that* happen?
Seriously, on the Husker-Duck match thread, gazelle1 posted that Nebraska was a little lucky to win set two. I don't entirely disagree, but it got me to thinking. Other than the SMU match, this Nebraska team has shown the most consistent focus and grit I can recall in many years. In particular, when they get behind or their opponent goes on a run, they just don't wilt. Think that mindset and behavior has a way of making luck. I mostly agree with this. There are a couple notable exceptions though. There were large stretches of the Purdue match where the huskers weren't exactly resilient, though they won the key points that mattered, particularly in set 5. The other notable exception was set 3 of the UCLA match where the huskers managed to turn a 22-14 lead into a 25-23 set loss because they gave up a 10 pt run late in the set. For the most part though I agree this team has shown remarkable focus. The Stanford, Louisville, Wisconsin, and Oregon matches demonstrate that, even in set 2 of the Oregon match, which was very close and Nebraska could have easily lost. That set wasn't close because Nebraska lost focus. I think it was close because Oregon is a good team with good players who played very well during that set. They simply outplayed Nebraska for large stretches of the set. Kudos to Nebraska for sticking with it and upping their own intensity when they needed to at the end to win the set. I won't predict Nebraska will definitely make it to the final four because in this topsy-turvy college volleyball world anything can happen. However, I do know that Nebraska will be a tough out and if anyone beats them, they will have to play a near perfect game, kind of like SMU did back in early September.

Nicklin got to ring the bell today! Great news and I hope she’s feeling better! Wow! I didn't even know she had cancer. That must be terribly frightening for one so young. That's great that she is cancer free now.

That's good news about Nicklin. Shocking in someone so young and fit.

The stat I would like to see is: Everyone’s total number of serves for the season; and the total number of points the team won on those serves. Can that be found anywhere?

I was just watching the Oregon game. I think it would be hilarious if Nebraska implemented a Cook cam. 1 camera pointed at him at all times. I'm sure the compilation of his reactions when someone tips a ball would do great on his Tiktok.

I'm sure I just missed this earlier, but I saw that the Neb-Maryland game will be played in the main basketball arena. So most likely another program-record crowd for the opposing team.

In the past I could get $6 tickets for Maryland - Nebraska, this year $20. But all the seats are listed general admission, so there won’t be a good idea of how many tickets are sold until the day of the game. In the side gym the crowd was usually about 75-25 Nebraska. It will be interesting to see how many turn out this year in the bigger place — lots of Nebraska fans in the DC area, but Lincoln area fans who travel that weekend will probably go to State College for the more important match.

Nebraska Is A College Volleyball Powerhouse: From D1 to JUCO Success Ties in very nicely with Terry Pettit's recent post on Facebook about how good (and popular) high school volleyball is across the state of Nebraska.
