I would think they meant sets instead of matches. These type of releases haven't always been the most accurate in the past.

I would think they meant sets instead of matches. These type of releases haven't always been the most accurate in the past. That could be about the "sets" instead of "matches" to a point, but even then, doesn't add up to me, especially with the "pair of close battles" reference related to Creighton outcomes. They played 3 sets against Creighton. Plus, what was "altered" about the day? Thought they played 3 sets against each of the three teams, right? Seems pretty straightforward. End of day, I agree that these maybe aren't the most accurate, detailed reports historically and it is only spring...but to me, this seems misleading, which is an entirely different thing than inaccurate. And please know this is not towards you, definitelymaybe...this is just about the big picture of it and how this was chosen to be worded in this release by whomever puts that together. Anyway, we move on and hope for some possible transfer help at OH for this fall and a positive 2024 season.

Most schools don’t write anything about spring scrimmages. Pretty sure they are “altered format”. Some 2 sets only. Some 2-3. Some 4 sets or 5 sets. Just went to Indiana and 4 other sites in the B1G and no mention of spring match results.

Great that there was coverage/mention. Still seems what was shared was misleading to me...that's all I am saying.

What, a college writeup misleading?? No way!! These sports info departments use to behave like media but across the board they are more like promoters. Seeing that they get paid by the school it makes sense though.
Not sure who is paying the newspapers now adays but that’s another story.

Great that there was coverage/mention. Still seems what was shared was misleading to me...that's all I am saying. There certainly seemed to be some spin put on the article. Creighton killed them in the first set 25-14, put multiple backups in for set 2 & won 25-19 then went back to the starters for set 3. That was the most competitive set. It was tied 18-18 then the Iowa meltdown of unforced errors occurred & it was over. Granted, the Hawks weren't putting their best lineup on the floor for any set. UNI is a tough mid major program but if they're struggling to take sets off them, league play is going to be ugly. Garcia & Stojanovic need to be hammers or they're in trouble.

From what I read, JB is very encouraged by the spring season. What is the new offensive system that coach is referring to?

Interesting that there is no little picture/icon with a hint on this one like there has always been in the past.
