Sad for us, but really good for her. It is shocking actually. But before I get bbg to wake up To be honest, I often don't read your comments because they aren't worth my time since you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about.

I'm surprised to read the claim that Erin Livington is talking negatively about the program. Is there evidence this claim is true? Is there ever any evidence of anything marn claims?

I'm surprised to read the claim that Erin Livington is talking negatively about the program. Is there evidence this claim is true? Is there ever any evidence of anything marn claims? It is spring ball and you don't pay attention to anything in the spring - remember? Here we go again, who said Erin was talking negatively about the program? Erin looking around and determining that the program wasn't going to be as strong as last season and deciding to go pro isn't "talking negatively about the program" ..... what do you think made Erin leave BYU and go pro? Maybe money from a pro contract (they aren't lucrative) or was it frustration with the current state of the decisions in the program? Or both? If her intent was to go pro from the end of last season, regardless ..... her departure decision date is a mystery. I know you are going to look through your blue goggles but reality is reality .... even if you are asleep in spring ball and don't want anyone to wake you!

If only commenting on my comments fit in the same "not worth my time" category you have with reading them we would all be better off!

Sad for us, but really good for her. Erin leaving BYU is a major blow. It is shocking actually. But before I get bbg to wake up from her sleep, from spring ball, and start complaining about me, I will say that Livingston has made comments about worrying about the direction of the team this year. There is a growing uncomfortable pause on what the players think about line ups in practice vs what appears to be Heather's decision making process in matches. Erin didn't want to hang around if BYU didn't field a very competitive team into the Sweet 16. So, she took the money instead of the aggravation. I think the decision to leave is a reflection of what she thinks about the prospects of getting to a high ranking this year. BTW, on a completely unrelated matter, it appears that the initial BYU season opening tourney has 3 NCAA tourney teams coming to Provo. SE Louisiana, High Point University and Fairfield. My initial reaction to BYU's non conference schedule is usually that they need to schedule harder. But I won't go there, at least with this field. It is what I call a high RPI tourney. I am not sure that any of the teams are great, but Fairfield could be tough and I wouldn't sleep on them. SE Louisiana is going to be a walk in the park for BYU as they lost lots of starters from last year's team. High Point is an unknown for me but some coaches back east told us at a club tourney last weekend that Tennessee and Va Tech got run out of the building by High Point this spring. So, a BYU/HPU match might be competitive. Where did Livingston make "comments about worrying about the direction of the team" - are the comments in print or were these made personally to you? The remark about "taking the money" is also odd. Do you think pvf pay for a few weeks is more than what BYU NIL pays top volleyball players?

I'm curious about the comments as well, but Pro players, according to what I have heard, make about 60,000-80,000? Maybe that is wrong info. but I am sure that is more than any NIL deals for BYU womens volleyball, so maybe the money did talk there??

The remark about "taking the money" is also odd. Do you think pvf pay for a few weeks is more than what BYU NIL pays top volleyball players? Of course Livingston didn't make the comments in print. The thought process was one about whether it was worth staying at BYU in the fall or going pro. The taking the money comment isn't odd, what are you talking about?! You think that BYU's NIL is more than pro volleyball? That isn't true but if it were (as you insinuate) that is an even worse look for BYU's program, that their top OH headed to the pro ranks for less money than she could make in the BYU program. The bottom line is that Erin didn't feel that staying in the BYU program was worth the risk and leaving and taking a payday was a better option for her. If she had come back and had a good year/high team finish she might have had a higher pro offer after the fall NCAA season is over. That tells you what she thought about the prospects of this year's team being better than the 2023 team.

Interesting points. BTW Suli Davis got MVP for Open 18s National- TAV 18 champions. She will be amazing when she gets here along the RS Anna who actually sets as well 2025. I wonder what Heather will do when a 6'1 RS/Setter gets here? She got Damuni and Bower. I stand by my opinion that Damuni should be starting and agree with Marn's observations in that department. But, I also agree with Marn that she probably won't with A Bower on the team. As as the libero, uluawe will be amazing too. I have watched her during club tournaments and she doesn't let anything fall. She could possibly be a younger hiapo?

Damuni is for sure not starting over Bower next year. She is in the portal Based on how few reps she got in the spring, I'm not particularly surprised by this. Hope she lands at a good place. I've liked her touch and location every time I've seen her play.

WOW!! Marn was right again and Pelagius I agree with that too. Yes, hope she finds a good place who will utilize her abilities. She is not a bencher for sure.

Yup- Her brother plays football, I think both parents went to BYU, dad on staff. This just shows she knows her worth I guess. Many of us have seen it, but right Bower connection is strong for sure.
