Bre Kelly seems to be the difference-maker for this Pitt team. How did she end up at Pitt? What was the connection? Dan Fisher coached her (and Rachel Fairbanks) on the USA U-21 Pan Am team in 2023. You would assume that one or both of those people are the connection. Kelley was in the portal before they went to the tournament. Fish just brought an extra middle blocker sized suitcase with him.

LOVE this team. Babcock and Stafford are gonna be a PROBLEM for the ACC. Ryla Jones is my DMV sister. Klika and Fairbanks have improved so much. Bre Kelley serving face and blocks. VVG needs to stare down every time she gets a kill. HAIL 2 PITT How people don’t realize how good Fairbanks is baffles me. She’s a first team all American and has been in her age group USA squads. 3 straight final fours. She’s seen everything and been in so many big games. I don’t see Minor play, but as far as everyone else she’s head and shoulders above an anyone else in the ACC or the BIG. How much could she improve? Shes awesome. She could start as a hitter on 90 percent of D1 squads go check out when they ran a 6-2. Agree-she makes the team go. It's no coincidence that in her 1st 3 years, Pitt made it to their first 3 final fours. She's going to leave a huge void when she graduates.

Anyone else trying to get to this Pitt-GT game despite the hurricane? We’ve got tickets and we were supposed to drive up from Florida.

it sounds like getting up from Florida isn't going to be too bad. The Tech game tonight is on, so I would think the game on Sunday is certainly on.

Bre Kelly seems to be the difference-maker for this Pitt team. How did she end up at Pitt? What was the connection? I did come over here to ask for bullet points on why/how Pitt is seemingly LOADS better than last year...when they were still VERY good in 2023. Is this the singular answer?

Stafford is also a completely new player. She was good last year but she’s legit playing like a NPOY this season

Most of last years team returned, is a year older and wiser, and some have taken the great leap forward, like Torrey and Emmy. Torrey came back from her knee situation last winter and it seems like she can jump a foot higher. Olivia is playing more in control, and her defense at the net has gotten a lot better. Her and Bri/Ryla play really well connected. It helps that Ryla came in during the spring semester, cause it feels like there is no drop off with her and Bri from Chia and Emma last year. She stepped on campus looking like a ready made Pitt middle. We had a couple players nursing injuries that took most of the summer off, so it seems like they are fresher.

Is it too early to talk about player of the year? Because right now I think you can make a strong case for any of Torrey Stafford, Rachel Fairbanks or Olivia Babcock. If Pitt keeps winning and playing close to this level, I think it's a slam dunk one of them takes it.

The AVCA is putting out NPOY watchlist, so not too early Of the 3, I'd give it to Fairbanks for running the efficient offense

The only reason I would go with Stafford is because she's hitting north of 0.400, which is crazy for an outside.
