I was about to be shocked that Ohio State was leaving the Big Ten...

Where else they gonna go? The other three conferences are waiting for the ACC to implode before making any more moves.

This just feels grim for their athletic program future. Not that they can't be successful on some level, but I don't know what the path to returning to big time college athletics is for either of these two programs.
Of course, the future of big time college athletics is so uncertain. Who knows who is going to be a part of it or what it will look like in 5 to 10 years.

Im not a fan of chip Kelly but I agree with his take. Make football it’s own thing and let the other sports stay in their original leagues

I thought that they were taking in the Mountain West, and calling it the Pac... whatever.

People who watch don’t want to see ucla playing Ohio state in softball. They want to see ucla vs Arizona

Because it was proven that was the value of a regional west coast conference, even if it is comprised of big name programs.

People who watch don’t want to see ucla playing Ohio state in softball. They want to see ucla vs Arizona Good thing they can schedule that in the non-conference. Softball schedules are so easily flexible. Even in conference season - they can do some interesting things re: accommodating travel and scheduling multiple games.

I thought that they were taking in the Mountain West, and calling it the Pac... whatever. Although they appear to have wrested control of the Conference assetts, there is still a lot of uncertainty about future revenues and continued viability. They've used some of the money to buy a temporary staging ground while they figure out the next move.

It’s only a matter of time before acc implodes. FSU will almost surely be in BIG eventually. It’s comes down to who comes with them.

The overall sentiment is correct for sure - but, not too much on Arizona, they were good in football this year!
