Since 2000 the Toreros have only missed the tourney twice. 2009, I think, and last year. At 0-4 I’m afraid it looks like they are headed for an unprecedented two misses in a row. Could be down to savoring any win against anybody, with a win against say Pepperdine or LMU being viewed as a marquee upset.

I'd like to say that USD turned a corner today in that 4th set. They really squeaked by and almost came from ahead to lose yet another set in the 3rd. But the 4th was where the offense really started clicking. Turned a corner? I suspect this season may be a lot of two steps forward one step for a young team. Thoughts: I hope Beach is fully healthy and doesn't have some nagging injury. Stoner's step out is the most terminal shot on the floor right now. I haven't seen every play of every match, but I started to against Saint John's, "I haven't seen USD run a single BIC this season." Maybe it was later during that match or during AZ St that we started to see Osunsanmi coming out of the back row. Today, she was pretty terminal with that shot. I predict that Munday is going to be something special.

I think I saw Nemo hit one against ASU. I just hope none of these Frosh hit the transfer portal if they miss the tourney this year Munday looks good. Nice to see that she can also play opposite

Woohoo! Finally got that 1st win. This team is young, so I'm glad that they have that 1st win under their belt. They should've been 2-3, but hey, 1 win is better than none!
Passing and defense is still very much a work in progress, but I thought Beach actually held up pretty well 6 rotations. I'd like to see her get more sets when she's in the back row.
I was expecting a little bit more from Evans, but I think Munday has been a pleasant surprise. She gives me a little bit of a Gengenbacher vibe, and if she can be anything like her, I think USD is going to be in good hands in the future.
Next weekend is going to be an even bigger challenge so I hope the team is up to the task.

Yes worried about this year as well Questionable leadership changes, not sure why a recent final four team couldn’t retain/ secure better talent and transfers The loss of Blackwell was huge hit Lots of young talent if they can develop and hold on to them; very promising future just not sure about this year

In addition to the smallest budget of any other perennial top 25 team, I'm afraid they are not going to have a very lucrative NIL program. Petrie struck while the iron was hot - taking advantage of the portal before NIL - but it may prove to be the zenith of the program. Dollar for dollar, she is undoubtedly the best coach in the country. The next couple of years we'll see if she truly is a magician.

The day after a win over BYU is always a little bit sweeter, even more so since this one was sorely needed.
It did not feel like USD hit .140, but I was in and out on the watch, so maybe I just caught all of the good stuff. Either way, from the middle of the 4th set to the end of the match was as good as I have felt watching a match since the final four appearance.
Offense seems to be clicking, despite the low hitting percentage. Good blocking that probably looked a little better than it is because of BYU's poor passing. I thought the floor defense was great. Madi Allen made some out of this world digs.
At the very least, I'm confident that this will be an exciting team to watch, and it seems that they will be able to compete for the WCC title, and the future is looking very bright with such a young team.

Nice to get a straight forward win without any drama, 3-0 over Northern Florida. Looks like no streaming, except an SEC feed for the LSU game, so I can take a week off from watching the games. Given the hole that USD, any wine is a good win, but Boston College would be good and LSU even better.

Putting the hurt on LSU on the road could be a nice W!

Putting the hurt on LSU on the road could be a nice W! As dire as things looked with an 0-4 star to the season, looks like a decent pre-conference resume, depending on how sone of there opponents do during the season. Regardless, they seem to really have figured some things out.

What happened to the toreros today!? Setting was off, some hitters were off libero off. They looked like the best team but somehow lost. Got to pull through games like that.

But I would say that they are way better now compared to the first week. WSU was just slightly better down the stretch. Osunsamni was somewhat shut down today. Definitely struggled with passing today. Middles were not as great compared to when they played Gonzaga. It would have been better if they played WSU first than Gonzaga.

Gonzaga is, by everyone's opinion, the worst team in the WCC, with one win on the season... WSU has looked very hot and cold to me so far when I've seen them, but not in the same category as Gonzaga.

Yeah, maybe if they played WSU last Thursday, maybe SD was fresher and up for a challenge. Playing Gonzaga first didn’t prepare them for todays match

This game against LMU has been so slow and painful to watch. Set 4 little better but need to speed it up more!
