With Layla Blackwell in the Transfer Portal as a Grad Student, who will replace her? Who are the incoming recruits for 2024? Based on their instagram, they just added 2 middle blockers. One from st. Mary’s and one from Oregon state. I don’t get it. Don’t they already have 3 middles? |

Mary’s and one from Oregon state. I don’t get it. Don’t they already have 3 middles? Petrie has historically been inclined to put more than 2 middles in the lineup. She was running a 6-2 with 4 middles a decade before Wisconsin made it cool. |

We could see her slotted on the right side this upcoming season. |

The only returning players that saw significant floor time last year:
OH - Beach
MB - Stoner
Lib - Bennet
Is Madi Allen back? I would guess Durham will be in the starting line-up. Of the transfers I would guess Erland is the other MB based on her resume.
Does the incoming freshman OH make an impact?
The setter Munday is an interesting one to me. Her signing makes me think of Gegenbacher, an all around athlete that wasn't highly recruited.
But setter is a huge question mark.
I'm not expecting any high profile transfers at this point. USD hasn't brought in an international player since Terçariol. Could that be a possibility?

Madi should be back. She was seen on some recent instagram posts practicing with the team. They definitely need an experienced OH who can pass. If not, most likely, they will not make it post season. I am excited for the freshman setter coming in. She’s versatile. I read it somewhere that she’ll mainly focused on setting and hitting. |

I remember seeing that she was uncommitted on that UA list when it came out. There should be some good competition for the pins. I'm just hoping that passing improves as well next season. |

I think it’s an appropriately challenging schedule for a team that is pretty young, particularly at the pins. usdtoreros.com/sports/womens-volleyball/scheduleThis two or three year patch following the final four run looks to be about the biggest challenge of Petrie’s tenure. |
