Thanks for making this thread! From the looks of it, we’ll need a good number of pins and middles for 2026. Any potential recruits on the radar?

Maybe we could just merge this with the 2024 thread? I like the info but it makes sense as part of the OP of that thread.

St. Francis looks to have an amazing culture. The letters from the alumni is amazing. Can't wait for 2025. Horner and Fuerbringer on the same floor? Now that will be dynamic.

Actually it is nice to have a separate thread for recruiting/future discussion. On top of Texas, Minnesota has one, and other schools may as well. Also during the season in the standard Wisconsin thread there isn't always an 'appetite' to discuss recruiting matters and having a separate thread will eliminate the occasional... we'll worry about that in 2025 replies.

Are Minnesota fans somehow surprised when a coaching change results in roster volatility? It happens in every sport. The only Minnesota-to-Wisconsin transfer that wasn't related to McCutcheon stepping down was Lauren Barnes.

My main issue is that splitting the threads will make it more likely for them to slip off the front pages. I used to have to hate digging back a few pages to find the current badger thread. I also have also never noticed a lack of interest in recruiting issues. Maybe a few comments about focusing on the current team during the season, but that is normal.

That really isn't an issue when typing 'Wisconsin recruiting' into the search box on this Women's Volleyball Discussion main page brings immediately to the top this thread. Unless someone is a one finger typer it only takes a few seconds.

The search function is OK but sometimes doesn't work so well.
Good Luck next year.

Nice article about Natalie Wardlow in the Wisconsin State Journal this morning: madison.com/sports/college/basketball/men/wisconsin-volleyball-commit-natalie-wardlow/article_23039f13-03f8-5e33-8345-4ef7c3495584.html#tracking-source=home-top-storyShe spent her last high school season playing 6 rotations to help diversify her skill set. An excerpt: "She took on a new challenge during the high school season at Lincoln Southeast. The 6-foot-5 Wardlow, who only recently had taken up volleyball before her recruitment erupted, spent her entire high school season playing all six rotations as an outside hitter. But it also gave Wardlow the opportunity to try something new. She said Lincoln Southeast’s libero gave her a lot of encouragement, and she started to gain confidence over time in the role. She said she was one of the best serve receive passers on the team by the end of the season. On the offensive end, she got to work on shots and movements that she rarely did as a middle blocker. As an outside hitter, it’s a slower tempo than playing middle blocker. It’s typically a quick set, quick jump and quick swing as a middle blocker. But it’s entirely different footwork as an outside hitter. Wardlow noticed that there’s not always going to a perfect set to one spot as middle blockers typically get to the middle. She had to get her feet to the ball no matter where the ball was set. That helped her move around the floor and try different shots like she saw the Badgers outside hitters attempt against Nebraska. “Playing outside in high school might give me a better chance of getting on the court if they need an outside hitter,” Wardlow said, “but also it just helped me with a lot of ball control as well.”"

I would love to see some highlights of her playing OH. I wonder if she’s a potential OH 2 option for 2025. Thanks for posting the article buckypete
