But wouldn’t they keep her on the roster still? Unless they needed to open up her scholarship? Idk how it all works but that would be a hopeful scenario If they want her to play in the future at Baylor, realistically Baylor needs to keep her on a countable scholarship this season. If they don't keep her on a countable ship, very difficult to return without the program getting some scholarship penalty. maybe her tickets were alright bough before her speculated medical retirement. So Baylor just decided to do the good Christian thing and let her go

I suspect that's the same with most any college athletic programs. I'm assuming Stowers is still involved in the program if she is going on a medical scholarship so it would be normal for her to go on the trip.

Watched some of the Baylor stream from their scrimmage just now. Sophia Keene was playing OH and Jennifer Bolden was playing 6-rotation OPP and actually looks quite good... was getting some big kills both in the front and back row. I am excited for her and Carroll to push Sczech some.
Passing looked a bit meh but Briseno wasn't playing and Ulufatu was at libero.

Baylor picked up a commitment yesterday from 6’1 OH Halle Bills out of Club V to join DS/L Julianna Hernandez. I think there are at least two other commitments that are waiting to be announced as well.
I know Baylor is stocking up on DS’s but Hernandez is a very good pickup. She was ranked the top libero in the nation by PrepDig’s most recent list.

TAV’s Hernandez is a skilled addition to the back row room for sure, don’t know anything about Bills though.

And it’s definitely much needed after the defensive focused classes of 2024 and 2025. I’m wondering if Baylor is still expecting more from this class. I’m thinking a setter and another OH would round it out nicely, but could be keeping space open for the portal. As of now the 2026 roster would be: OH: Kendal Murphy, Sr. Brielle Warren, R-Sr. Halle Bills, Fr. OPP: Grace Carroll, Jr. Nadiya Johnson, Fr. MB: Tori Davis, Sr. Lauren Wiese, So. Lacey Tinnell, Fr. S: Harley Kreck, R-Jr. Emelyn Stettin, Jr. DS/L: Tehani Ulufatu, Sr. Taylor Crain, Jr. Grace Fuger, So. Morgan Madison, So. Natalie Fukumoto, So. Julianna Hernandez, Fr.

They certainly have had their fair share of good backrow defenders over the last few years. Jana Brusek Tara Wulf Braya Hunt Shanel Bramschreiber Campbell Bowden (medically retired after 1 season) Lauren Briseno Alexis Dacosta Sophia Keene With Briseno gone after this season, the battle for the libero jersey will be wide open. McGuyre will have his hands full with managing them all but he has shown to be very willing to utilize many DS's.

Looks like Baylor missed out on their top two setter choices in the 26 class in Thiebaud and Victoriano. Curious to see what moves they make at this position.
