The recruiting has been a little interesting. The ‘22 and ‘23 classes were really good. The ‘25 class is DS dominant and it’ll be interesting to see how he manages all 3 of them, but with Briseño gone in 2025 the libero spot will be open. However, Baylor does seem to be making some big pushes in the ‘26 class. They’ll be looking to land a setter, pin hitter and a middle and are going after some big names. Hopefully they can pull a good class in. What’s your opinion about this upcoming season ? If you had told me at the end of last season that Baylor would be losing Stowers, Carlson, Dacosta, and Simpson, my aspirations for 2024 would have been shot down to the ground. However, despite those losses, Baylor still seems to have pieced together a roster that should remain in the top 25. Elise McGhee will be the offensive leader for the team and she showed great improvement over the course of the season, ending on 1st-team Big 12. It'll be interesting to see if she plays 6-rotation because she was developing a great serve and backrow attack when Stowers went out. Joining her in leading the offense will be Manuela Bibinbe, who was 2nd-team Big 12 in her first season in D1 volleyball. Excited to see her growth this season. Baylor's success will really depend on the other offensive options. Warren and Murphy will battle it out for the other OH spot, Davis and Andrew for MB2, and the three leftys at OPP. If one or two of these players can emerge to provide some offense, Baylor will be competitive. First and second contact should still be relatively okay with Briseno and Keene passing, and most likely Barrett-Frazier taking over for Carlson though Kreck is talented. I am hoping to see improvement in leadership/confidence on the court next season. With no seniors last year, Baylor really struggled with this. Surely bringing in Barrett-Frazier helps provide some maturity and Briseno, McGhee and Bibinbe will be seniors as well. Overall, the pieces are still there to be competitive in the Big 12 and nationally. Not quite sure we'll quite be in the hosting conversation, but the ceiling is there. |

Maybe a Holland situation of I don't think I can do this anymore, but later changed her mind? Concussions are just so tricky because she could be feeling fine until all of a sudden she isn’t. She was 100% planning to return after the season ended in December but it’s seeming like she just hasn’t been cleared medically. |

Idk how it all works but that would be a hopeful scenario If they want her to play in the future at Baylor, realistically Baylor needs to keep her on a countable scholarship this season. If they don't keep her on a countable ship, very difficult to return without the program getting some scholarship penalty. |
