So at this point we fully anticipate Drews being the starter and Thompson the reserve? I'm just not sure I'm going to like this but we'll see. I'm still holding out hope that maybe Poulter or ANY other setter can bring even a fraction of her Tokyo (pre injury) form this summer. Team USA does tend to rise to the Olympic occasion so we'll see what the VNL will show us. JT was awful this season and ended even worse. I guess I don’t get the JT attachment from like, the entire board. she’s been elite twice: for like two matches in the 2020 Olympics and for a playoff series against Conegliano last season. we just have no other solidified choices since Karch won’t even try and see if Logan or Kipp could push her or get on his knees and beg Rivers for one run.

Not going to lie ya'll, I am going to really miss watching Akinradewo at the Olympics. Not seeing her in Paris is going to be so strange. I kind of hoped she would pull a Danielle Scott-Arruda and keep coming back to the team. Don't mind me ya'll I'm just feeling nostalgic. Who's a player you guys miss seeing in the USA jersey? Maybe JT is just better at USA's system? I still think her ceiling is higher than Drews but at this point, we just need someone over there that can contribute and score points. Both are better than Murphy was there at the end of her run. I think Kipp and probably others will get a solid look next year but not this year. Karch seems done with surprise roster selections in Olympic years now. We could all but predict 2021's roster. I also am probably under some recency bias as I just rewatched JT's olympic matches so that is pretty fresh in my mind. We'll see who ends up the starter come Paris.

Karch is going to pay the transfer fee to pick up the Setter/Libero from the Grand Rapids Rise. Evans and Sponcil? I was joking b/c on the Rise Roster, Sponcil is listed as Setter/Libero.

I'm sharing my agenda line-up because I love ya'll......ish....haha S: Carlini OPP: Thompson MB: Ogbogu, Rettke OH: Cook, Plummer L: Wong-Orantes Even if I only see it one time, I'll be happy. This is my ideal roster as well but I wouldn’t be mad at Poulter at setter (if she can get Rettke going 😊)

Poulter, Drews, Washington, Frantti, Larson and Hentz would round out the bench if I were choosing the 14 for the VNL finals. I would be fine with any one out of Hall, Butler and O'Neal being the 3rd/4th middle. I think Haleigh will make the Olympic roster unless something crazy happens. I would probably bring Hancock as my 14th player to the VNL finals for her serve alone. Bring her in to serve for a Middle or heck, if she needs to set, she's there. The only catch is that I don't see Karch pulling a Rio Repeat and bringing all three setters to Paris at the expense of a DS or a 6th pin hitter.

Million dollar VT question?
(probably deserves it's own thread but I'm just not going to do that rn)
Will Carlini miss out on making the Olympic roster a second time?

Who's a player you guys miss seeing in the USA jersey? Ugh. I love me some Kim Hill. That 2014 WCH run was just the best. I love the role she played in Tokyo. It felt like a full circle moment as a fan of hers to see her still show up for Team USA but just in a different way.

I’d probably bring Skinner over Frantti based on their current pro-seasons, but Frantti does very well in the US system. For the final MB, I’d have Butler as my number 4 from those three. I don’t follow the Brazilian league, but it looks like she’s had a good season this year. Washington will likely take the third MB for Paris due to veterancy. Hancock would be a great service sub and Carlini would be a great backrow setter in a double-sub (if Poulter’s running the show), but I don’t think we’ll see a three-setter finals/Olympic roster this summer

I saw on Twitter that Team USA was dropping something tomorrow? It can’t be the Olympic roster. Team Olympic fits?
