I guess I'm curious - did the *coaches* see a toss-up between Hancock and Carlini and that's why they put up a vote? Could the 'voters' have voted certain players who were locks to be off the team? Was bringing Hill a player decision, Karch decision, or I guess, joint? Or were the votes really for all 12 on the roster? It all seems messy and silly, without knowing the exact details. It’s not like the players choose the roster thru secret ballot… They are asked to give feedback on training, teammates and any other issues during the training block. The coaches should be asking for their input, but it’s only part of what the staff considers and they make the roster choices.

That sounds like a communist regime where citizens are asked to spy on other citizens. Ha! I’m ready for Karch (his ideology and his system) to move on after Paris!

Yall wouldnt last one tournament of Lavarini or Guidetti lol I'd throw in the house if it means we could get Santarelli. I'd settle for Lavarini or Guidetti. Who do you think will get the head coaching job after Karch if/when he retires?

This is referencing Hancock’s play leading up to Tokyo. Carlini was starting in 2019 until the world championships. Hancock wasn’t even around. We saw lc play once or twice in the 21 VNL before the roster was announced.. In 2019 Carlini gave an interview (for the life of me, can’t find it) going into detail about how she was anticipating being on the 2018 World Championships roster (Hancock and Lloyd were chosen) and instead represented USA at the Pan America Cup that year. At the time I recall wondering what Karch was thinking of that interview she gave. Clearly some of us knew about the Tokyo Olympics roster vote and some of us did not. But again, I can’t help but wonder what Karch thinks of this recent interview by Carlini and the vote and the fact that everyone now knows about this method. That said, in my opinion, I’m rooting for Carlini and Hancock for a Paris roster. (BTW, Carlini won the tournament MVP at the Pan American Cup in 2018)

lmao I'm pretty sure Larson mentioned the selection process in one of her post-Tokyo interviews
the first time I heard it was definitely from her, not Carlini

It's !!!!###$$$!!! Karch til the day I die for what he did to Logan...and Hooker to a lesser extent. Neither should have been dismissed unless their physical skills kept them off the court or their attitudes were SO bad that they were ripping down nets or cursing out refs. Oh wait... Totally agree about Logan, never heard any rational explanation. Hooker on the other hand probably needed to go, diva attitude and basically lost interest in the Gold Medal match in London. The most "talented" players aren't always the right fit. 1.) My point still stands that Hooker never tore down a net nor cursed out a ref. So she still obviously held it together better than Karch ever could 2.) let's not feed into the trend of giving a pass to lighter skinned women while demonizing black women for the same actions. If you can excuse Logan Tom, you can certainly make the same argument for Hooker.
