Has the friendly match between USA and Japan already happened? Yes. but they're doing multiple. Was there a stream and I missed it? Who played for USA?

Now that Santerelli has shown Karch how to effectively use Plummer you can only hope that he's actually learned this lesson. What Santerelli does when Plummer is having a passing break down is give her a quick breather. In our case that would be Larson. He never punished her the way Karch did Hill in the Rio semi’s against Serbia. Unfortunately it cost him and he did not repeat the mistake in the Bronze match. Plummer always comes back at the start of the next set or her next front row rotation. No undermining her confidence. This season with Imoco I never saw Plummer with that broken look like we saw last year with the NT. Yes, we saw frustration, but she rewarded Santerelli with important play even after she faltered. She has one more match to silence her critics. I’m seeing Plummer and Cook as the final VNL and Paris starters if Karch can resist his old habits.

Let's be straight here and not beat around the bush, shall we? What you really want to say here is have Daniele Santarelli move over from coaching Turkey to coaching USA, right? Since he "knows" how to get the best out of Plummer at Imoco and seems to do a decent job coaching Turkey (he did led Turkey to win the CEV European Championship in 2023), you would think he would do a better job than Karch, right?

%*$# guys, Carlini Is really getting left at home again, isn't she? I'm not ready for the drama that's about to unfold (but I am ready for the tell all that is sure to follow!)

Kidding aside, I would really feel bad for Carlini to see her left off the roster two Olympics in a row. But what can you do so long as Karch is calling the shots?

I've not been following these threads for a minute, but what's leading everyone to think Carlini will be left off?

Poulter looks back to her regular self. If she is capable of running the offense, what change in philosophy from king Karch would warrant Carlini taking the backup spot from Hancock?

Poulter has a giant knee brace on. Even if she’s back to form there’s a risk for reinjury. They would be absolutely silly not to use the thirteenth injured reserve slot for a setter. Whoever ends up being the third out should still go to Paris. I just really don’t see a compelling case to take anyone else.

I’m seeing Plummer and Cook as the final VNL and Paris starters if Karch can resist his old habits. Not a chance. It’ll be Larson/Cook so we can get perfect passes so we can not set the middle.

As much as I want Poulter back on the team I’m worried about her knee. I don’t think it’s a good idea to bring someone rehabbing from an injury like hers to the Olympic squad. She’s a beast and we’ve seen what she can do when she’s at 100%. This VNL will show if 1) she’s able to complete against top teams given her form and 2)if her knee will give her any problems or impacts the way she plays. We only saw a quick 5-10 second clip… not a full set or game. But Karch loves to bring injured players to the Olympics so….

That was a really polite way to say if Poulter passes the rehab test during the VNL then Carlini misses catching the bouquet once again. Girl just didn't spend enough time around the campfire.
