hitting OOS on both pins is like a completely different thing. Especially OOS D balls. okay so why donāt we watch her this week to see how she does instead of writing her off after she *checks notes* hits over .350 against a good Thailand team? havenāt we all seen how much ridiculously better Logan got from year 1 to year 2 pro and transitioning to opposite? Madi had the best OOS D ball swing Iāve seen from a USA opposite this entire quad last match I literally never wrote her off ? I was just answering a question for someone ? Iāve literally said multiple times I think Madi is great and should lowkey be a Paris contender..

Madi was literally better OOS than in system from the front row this season at Texas lol. I know right side is different but cmon now. every time Akana or Halter or Barnes threw up a high ball to Madi it was a kill. when she āstruggledā was off Swindle front row lol backrow we all know sheās insane but thatās 90% in system why do you think being good in college volleyball is a good predictor for professional success? Just curious? They never said that. This is in response to posters earlier in the thread saying sheās not a good OOS hitter. Towards the end of the season Madi was hitting almost .300 on OOS swings. http://instagram.com/p/C0NfzYExuKM Also, aside from exactly 1 pro match (where she was the top scorer) we have literally no data on Madiās pro prospects aside from her collegiate career. Obviously thatās going to be the data we try to make extrapolations from

a good barometer for up-and-coming usa opposites would be higher than ncaa level but lower than the top 4 international opps.

why do you think being good in college volleyball is a good predictor for professional success? Just curious? how did you get that from me saying she was better OOS than in system from the front row this year lol alsoā¦ were Kelsey, Plummer, JWO, Poulter, Carlini, Hancock, Chiaka, Haleigh, Rettke, etc not good in collegeā¦? you just named three setters and two middles. Also yes I agree to some extent that being good in college matters but you also have to look at why they were good if you understand what I mean. Like Plummer and rettke were going to be good at the club level that was obvious because not only were they good in college but they possessed all the other tangibles they needed to compete with the other great players in the world like height and power. Look at Bergman now. I was told she would be great but I watched one college highlight video and said ok not enough power, next. Most of the good pins from the ncaa go pro and donāt have the same success because they canāt beat up on mediocre players anymore. Setter translates the best because once you can set it really doesnāt matter the opponents you are facing

They get a look. What we donāt see is the training, stats and discussions in practices. Karch and crew have proven themselves over, over, and over. Theyāll make decisions that give us the best chance to win. They have proven themselves over and over? Seems like a LOT of coming up short lately (VNL exits without a medal in back-to-back years, which is a tournament they tend to take seriusly). The USA didn't even win their region (NORCECA) the last two goes, and those were both with A-Level teams. Then, the World Championship. I am fine with finding some medium between pure Karch hate and the actual USA success, but, saying they have proven themselves over and over with the recent results, seem a little bit foolish to me IMO.

They are gonna throw out the Olympic gold in the weak Tokyo field to say it makes up for anything and everything and nothing matters after that

But at the same time, they lost the 2019 NORCECA Championship and were so close to fumbling the 2019 Olympic Qualifier (at home!!) Then, the year before, also the disappointing 2018 World Championships. USA 2018-present has not been.. superb. Especially for USA standards. They've been OK. They did win the most important tournament (Olympics) but again, it can be debated how much that says given the instability of uh, the... entire world at the time. I just think that comment of proving themselves time and time again just doesn't make sense to me.

The level of cliquey-ness (and subsequently, the subsequent rise of arrogance, incompetence and corruption) is pretty remarkable. And the out loud conversations among these people about the replacement plans for Jamie Davis are jaw-dropping.
