Hentz isn't even the best passer in PVF lol. I don’t think anyone expected hentz to pass insanely well when she went pro. Her platform and technique have always been criticized on here Agree. She has never been a great passer, but she is very serviceable. Her defense, and I know her technique isn’t the best, is world class. She creates more scoring opportunities with her explosiveness and keen sense of where ball will be. She is also a very good OOS setter.

You wanted her to poach for Plummer though, so shouldn't she be a strong passer?

Thank you omg. Can they PLEASE take Kipp over Annie... like Annie is 30+ years old and gives nothing on the offensive or defensive side of the ball. I'm so sick of her and would rather Cuttino atp lmao which I can't believe I'm saying out loud. Kipp is 23 and obviously she's not perfect or the most experienced as she has played half a season of pro volleyball but she has so much potential and going to the Olympics could do wonders for her growth. Obviously she wouldn't be starting over JT but just being there would be amazing for her I think Annie is more of a known quantity. 2023 Annie was still coming in pretty clutch e.g. the one consistent outlet hitter in our IOQT poland match. I would love for Kipp to crush it and have a chance, but we haven't seen her on the NT yet while Annie has bailed out team USA time and time again when JT's shaky. Bring Kipp to a week of VNLs, see how she connects with usa setters, and go from there? I just hope they give Kipp a chance like you mentioned. My fear is that she debuts with Team USA, does really well (and outplays miss Annie) and then Karch still takes Annie bc she's familiar to him. And then Annie flops in Paris. But rn all of this is speculation so we will have to wait until the summer. I literally can't wait omg

KP seems much more stable when she isn’t being poached. I said Hentz is serviceable as a passer.

I think her passing is kinda underrated (well at least at the NCAA level it was). I think I saw someone say on here that she passed around a high 2.3-low 2.4 her last three years at Stanford which is obviously fantastic. I am confident that she is capable of reaching that success at the NT level, and she has already shown that capability in multiple matches. But yeah I don't think she's at the required level to poach other passers atp.

I mean her serve receive is incredibly stable with the national team in the sense it’s always bad and usually behind her head (cue jwvolley’s video lol) sorry that was mean lol I’m just here for a Kelsey/Avery duo

Didn’t the USA run a weird hentz JWO thing at the VNL?
Like JWO came in for serve receive and hentz for defense or some odd thing?
