One of the best threads on VT, thanks vbshrink. Just for the sake of conversation, I'd probably rearrange the below slightly to... I just don't see how Texas isn't on its own tier right now.
Florida and UK both have enough question marks, I think they are much closer to each other than either is closer to Texas.
speak now is her best album… and it’s not close. Why did you spell Red ( Taylor’s Version ) wrong?

I appreciate this thread . I live in Columbia , SC and I have trouble finding info on South Carolina volleyball . Kiune Fletcher finished the season strong and it will be interesting to see where she ends up . Never played the back row much , but she should be able to help someone . Greetings from Charleston!

Howdy from Texas! Thanks for creating this page. Excited to be joining the SEC because the old Big 12 (pre-2023) slate only had 9 volleyball playing schools. The one negative, which JE pointed out, is that the SEC plays Friday-Sunday games (correct?) and that's stressful on students in terms of travel and school. He said he experienced that type of schedule when he was acting-HC at USC.
Questions for y'all:
1. Are almost all games findable on SEC+/ESPN+? Our beloved boutique LHN is going away.
2. Who are the top 5 schools (not including Texas) in terms of home attendance? Florida and Kentucky and.....who?
3. Sometimes, in preparation for the move to SEC, I would stop on a random game like Alabama vs. [someone] or Auburn vs. [someone] and think, "Hunh" I guess that's the bottom of the conference right? But Auburn is up now right?
4. Texas knew Florida very well, but for some reason haven't played each other much in many years. I know of Mary's reputation. Odd that no transfers from FL have ever sniffed Texas. There was that very good player who left Florida to return home to Texas to be with her ill Mom and she chose Texas State over Texas. I wonder.......
5. Personal thoughts on Texas volleyball joining? Oh great![sarcastic] or Oh great![enthusiastic] or Oh great![negative]?
SEC is a fantastic softball league. I know that they were probably Oh great![negative] about OU joining.

1. Yes. Also, I'm happy LHN is dying - too restrictive and people not in Texas miss being able to watch their teams big games against UT. 2. Not sure who the other 3 are. There is a post on here from last month where national attendance was analyzed with a great spreadsheet if you wanna look into it. If I had to guess, Tennessee Arkansas and Auburn are up there due to their recent success. 3. Yes, Auburn is better than ever before by a lot. Used to be bottom feeder. 4. Florida has a winning overall record against Texas and I'm excited for the Gators to be playing at the Greg. Physical style of play very similar and always a good match when these teams get together. I wonder....what you're insinuating, but I don't really care. Cheyenne Huskey played great for the Gators in the 5-2 when we were runners up in 2017, but like you said wanted to go back home. I doubt there was a spot for her on the Texas roster in 2018. Florida had Marlie Monserez coming in in 2018 too. And Huskey moved to OH at Texas State where she did great. 5. Oh great (enthusiastic). It will make us all better. For what it's worth, I also feel the same about OU and Texas softball

speak now is her best album… and it’s not close. “Story of Us” is a killer deep cut. “Enchanted” is another less-heralded favorite. I'm all about "bejeweled"

3. Alabama is still the bottom of the SEC. Auburn is in the top middle of the pack, but has been overrated the last two years because of easy scheduling.
4. Agree with secgator4, not sure what you're insinuating.
5. Aren't "Oh great! [sarcastic]" and "Oh great! [negative]" the same thing lol? I think most SEC volleyball fans know Texas joining is good for SEC volleyball.

I’m curious to see what the scheduling is going to look like. In his press conference in Tampa, Elliott was advocating for a minimum of conference games to allow for more featured matches to help propel the visibility of volleyball. I think the number he mentioned was 12 matches plus the conference tournament. I predict that has zero chance of passing. I know Elliott wants maximum amount of room in the schedule for RPI purposes, but Texas is going to help push higher attendance numbers wherever they play with the exception of completely moribund programs like Alabama. Schools like Arkansas, A&M, and LSU will have record crowds. Florida and Kentucky will get some kind of boost depending on venue. I don’t see schools limiting their opportunity to bring Texas into town simply to help UT’s RPI. But maybe enough other schools see it the same way, with a major goal to be to increase the league’s RPI as a whole rather than to focus on inter conference competition.
Also, I predict Texas hosting A&M in Moody this year rather than Gregory if the schedule can be arranged to work around men and women’s basketball.

Also, since ESPN is the exclusive network for both the ACC and SEC, I’d love to see a mid season challenge set up between the two conferences, of the kind we see in basketball.

That is correct. To emphasize, currently you need to have the SEC Network to get SECN+ and I'm pretty sure SECN+ is not available as a standalone purchase. For those who currently have LHN, most likely you already have the SEC Network.
