So they have decided that the way to handle this is to have a chaperone in the room?

After reading more about this and listening to above links--at this point, it's more than Just Gonzalez (and his staff) that should be fired.
I think the AD and everyone else who didn't listen to these girls should also be given the axe. (Which I guess is why the athletic department is doing everything it can to protect itself at this point because it can bring them all down)

The President at Idaho is fairly new, and has a non-traditional background for a Higher Ed Institution. He was most recently in charge of finances for one of the largest law firms in the world, but he is also not a lawyer. C. Scott Green took office as the 19th president of the University of Idaho on July 1, 2019. President Green joins U of I as a highly accomplished executive with a career in global finance, operations and administration. He is also a proud alumnus of the university, graduating in 1984 with a bachelor of science in accounting. Born in Moscow, Green’s family moved to Boise, where he graduated from Boise High School. Following his degree from the University of Idaho, the third-generation Vandal went to work for Boise Cascade Corporation. He went on to attend Harvard Business School and received a Master of Business Administration in 1989. www.uidaho.edu/president/biographies

Unfortunately, the picture of the police car behind the U of I van driven by assistant coach Maria Logan didn't show up in the article I downloaded. For what it's worth...here it is... Gonzalez called the players liars. Players went to Gawlik with their concerns, and she didn't follow up at all. Assistant coach being pulled over for speeding and picture proof. Thanks for all of the support Gawlik. Next time you talk about how much you care about the well-being of the student athletes at Idaho, you can (insert edit here!)

What are these series of expose doing to Vandals Volleyball recruiting? I wonder how many players in the portal and in high school are looking elsewhere, or whether the previously committed players are opening up their recruiting? Considering all the players that already left, will they be able to field a team in the Fall if he stayed.
How is this reflecting on Idaho sports recruiting in general? Will Idaho coaches have to convince their own recruits that this is an anomaly rather than the rule?

The new coach is going to have to put in a lot of work distancing himself/herself and proving that Idahos athletic department will take care of anyone’s daughter. This is going to be a long and tough re build.

Were you expecting something better from this group? The statement adds nothing, and the inclusion of language in it about this being a nation of laws and due process as if this were a murder case and not a simple contractual issue involving basic performance issues is kind of ludicrous.

Or they might be preparing to exonerate him. Do not a lot of D-1 women's volleyball coach's see themselves as "Heroes" and "Role Models" for their players to emulate? Could this all be just a big misunderstanding between Coach Gonzales and his athletes? Maybe Coach see's himself as a "HERO" who is here to rescue his players from mediocrity and push them to be the best versions of themselves? Maybe Coach see's himself as a "Role Model" and really wants his players to call him "DADDY" who can set things5 straight in their lives? I definitely see this as his point of view. There are many people who defending him because they see the situation the same way. The last stand for a coach with traditional values. They are simply ignoring people and how they views have evolved.

Definitely not expecting much. If this is anything like my past experience with this type of situation, they chalk it up to generational miscommunication and remedy it with more "monitoring" to say everything is great. Provide Coach with more support in say they sent him to anger management or positive coaching seminars until his contract is up. They'll work closely with him and the team to make sure the student athletes get these communication issues resolved.

This gets more reprehensible each time, but what I really don't get is what are they even defending here? I would abhor it if they were defending some accomplished coach with a litany of conference titles and NCAA tournament bids, but I at least would kind of understand it. Idaho was AWFUL last year. They won three sets total in October and November COMBINED. Players are leaving your program and going on to success elsewhere.
Across the board this is just a baffling failure of administration at every single level.
