17s have 3 at large bids, with strongest options being, with their unvetted AES record vs Qualified teams at NIT and Qualifiers: Kiva 3-4 Tribe 8-10 Dynasty 3-9 AVC 7-12 Madfrog 4-8 Drive Nation 6-8 Rockwood Thunder 4-9 A5 5-8 HPSTL 6-10
Tribe, Kiva and A5 are all strongly tied to AAU, and the events are only 4 days apart, perhaps they'll just opt for AAUs.

Well there you go Tribe, AVC and HPSTL all w/ good wins against field and played the most bid teams. KIVA went to 1 Qualifier MEQ, that doesn’t get you in .

Also, head to head between the potential At-Large Teams is considered, I believe.

I don’t think KIVA will apply for an at large. They are as JVA as a club can be. They’ll send some teams to MEQ because it’s close to home and a great tournament. If any of those teams earn a bid, they’ll take it. But I don’t think they pursue at large bids. This is a complete guess on my part. I don’t actually know if they will or will not apply.

There are LOTS of other teams that deserve at large open bid wayyyy more than No Name 17s does. Whoa you sound a little bitter there I’m not from the area and have no skin in the game like you do, just saw for myself they’re a group of highly talented girls who are going places but fell just shy a few times. Freshman National POY, numerous D-1 commits, two top ten finishes at qualifiers, beat some top open teams, they absolutely deserve a close look. Take your OT bias off and you’ll see that for yourself Haha.. zero OT bias here, but everyone in the region knows why she got POY. All I am saying is that other teams deserve it better and some members actually posted the actual data, so go figure.

Oh wow we brought freshman POY come on this is a veteran group! Every team in 17’s is talented, freshman high school POY means nothing. We all have seen players in all age groups where we question their ranking, ability to play at a certain level. In the end USAV handles all that by giving all teams an opportunity to win a bid.

Looks like the Sweet Sixteen is set for 18 Open. Starting shortly.
TAV/Club V KC Power/Momentous Coast/Mizuno Long Beach Milwaukee Sting/A5 Minnesota Select/Metro Travel 1st Alliance/Munciana Rockwood Thunder/Tri-State Elite Dallas Skyline/Arizona Rev
TAV, KC Power, 1st Alliance, and Dallas Skyline were the only teams to go 5-0 in their pools. TAV is the only team so far not to drop a set.
Sting won their pool as the 18th seed, Rockwood Thunder did it as the 26th seed, and MN Select did it as the 28th seed.

And in 18 Open, the Elite 8 are (with adjusted seeds):
1) TAV 8) Arizona Rev
4) A5 5) Minnesota Select
3) Coast 6) 1st Alliance
2) KC Power 7) Tri-State Elite
FYI, TAV actually dropped their first set to Club V. It kind of seems like this is TAV's tournament to lose but some teams seem to be on fire.

This is the first gold bracket (not gold championship… gold bracket) appearance for 1st Alliance in 18 Open in over a decade.
Half their rostered 18 Gold team quit early to go to prom and didn’t travel. Half their starters are from their 17/16 Gold team.
