day one in the books! what a day it was. if you want to follow along, the order ill be going off of is the tournament bracket- bracket linkSTEVENS/HIRAM- Stevens sweeps 3-0, hits .343, and gets 22 blocks. when your getting as many blocks as there are points in a set, your bound to pull out on top. Hiram put a good effort in and since I respect the effort I won't dive in much more. JUNIATA/SPRINGFIELD- 3-2 juniatas way, seriously a fun game to watch. nobody wanted to make a serve in the last set though, and kept looking on the roster for Bart and Homer but couldnt find them. Juniata went 8-20 on ace to errors. kind of a crazy ratio but their hitting percentage and out of system work seemed to make up for it. ganter got taken out in the fifth when it was like 17-17 and never got put back in. I wanna say it was a subs issue because he was putting up dimes but who knows. LORAS/TRINE- Loras in 5. Another crazy game, I wanna say they played their worst in set 1 when they lost by like 3 or 4, and that was just because they hit .182, in set 2 they realized that is how you lose and decided to hit a measly .500. Loras hit well the whole match which I am sure led to some frustration in the blockers. Both teams had a crazy amount of digs. Good game fr. DOMINICAN/CAL LU- Cal Lu in 5. Sorry everyone, I didn't watch this game. Quick skim of the box scores tells me offensive production was tough for Dominican. Sorry Dominican fans, no snarky comments for you. WENTWORTH/LANCASTER BIBLE- Wentworth in 3- Not gonna lie, first set had me invested, those. Then, I watched the same guy who had a serving sub the whole year rattle off 4 aces to start. LBC goes 2-6 from the serving line, while WW went 9-12, perhaps an aggression issue from LBC. I think they are a mostly young squad so they can change some things around. They definitely have dynamic arms so who knows whats to come. VASSAR/NICHOLS- Vassar in 4, but could have gone 5. This might have been the best game of the first round. Something about watching the Nichols setter brush off his front row at all times just to set normandin a 2 ball from the backrow was inspiring. One thing that this squad had trouble with today was serve receive. Make no mistake, Vassar is one of the best serving teams in the country for a reason. Jacob Kim is jumping as high as the antenna and just tearing the ball open. Might be the hardest ive seen a libero work all year. and im not talking about in game- i watched the vassar libero bounce balls in between every set. let the kid play outside coach gary. This game was electric to watch and both teams have tons of respect for what it means to be a d3 athlete. SOUTHERN VIRGINIA/ ST. JOES LONG ISLAND- svu in 3. looks like tyler shaeffer decided to put his team on the map and be a d3 blake griffin (childish gambino reference) and not only had 34 assists, but ALSO went 7-0-12 with a hitting percentage of .583. I look forward to seeing the rest of this teams tournament run. BARUCH/NYU- nyu in 3. baruch beat NYU earlier in the season (thats right violets, i havent forgotten) so I thought this would be a little closer. Kind of seemed like NYU hitting lines as everyone hit well on their team. Thanks for reading everyone! See you all tomorrow!

Just so everyone is aware. There is other post season volleyball going on right now. The ECAC tournament semi finals are tomorrow including NJCU vs Ramapo and Rutgers Newark vs Saint Vincent. WHERE WAS EASTERN'S INVITE DANG GUMMIT. IS THIS SOME KIND OF SICK JOKE. Whatever. NJCU probably handles Ramapo with ease. Rutgers Newark probably takes care of Saint Vincent with ease. That will set up a highly anticipated NJAC rematch between NJCU and Rut-New. What a sick joke. Can't someone listen to me and just host a real NIT. Not some phony baloney chicken and Tony tournament. I ought to hit the hay. I was on Omegle until 4:30am last night and I'm completely toasted right now. I have a huge day tomorrow of waking up at 3pm and doing absolutely nothing until the national quarterfinals are on. NCAA Tournament was fun today. I really enjoyed watching that great volleyball. Eastern probably hangs 50 on Wentworth though. I'm just kidding. I will swallow my pride here.
My predictions for tomorrow. "Tiny big boy" reefe ganter will have no answer for the vertical leap of Percy Bickford. They will bring in that stretched out setter they have to try and counter it but it will be too late. Stevens in 3.
Loras struggled getting started in round 1 but they will find their way tomorrow vs Cal Lu. They win in 4 but a close 4. This all ultimately leads to them getting ducked by Stevens.
Wentworth was dominant vs a semi-respectable LBC team today. No shocks here. PME can buy all the tik tok followers he wants but he can't buy the height to stop Laboo. Wentworth vs Vassar will be a fun and intriguing but I think the dominance of Laboo will take over in this one. Wentworth in a closer than expected 5th set. PS I loved hearing the voice of the MAC up in Boston for that match. The reignmann himself up there on the mic giving some nice insight. Loved that.
SVU is good. When I say good, I mean really good. On the contrary, NYU is hot. When I mean hot, I mean really hot. In this match, the flame of NYU is coming to an end. It was a nice run but NYU's time is over. SVU wins in 3. Idk what they are feeding those boys down there but boy are they good.

Stevens, Juniata, Springfield seems like the committee didn't want Stevens to win again.

Why did Wentworth's pod have four line judges when Loras and Steven's had two? I didn't watch the Southern Virginia's pod so I don't know how many line judges were there.

Springfield struggles against float serves so they were serve subbing two players as well as blocking subbing Ganter.
