euro 2021 final, vnl 2022 final. She also almost beat Turkey singlehandedly in the euro 2023 semifinal. Italy is definitely a contender This year's VNL was supposed to be just to better prepare for the Olympics. However, Italy is not qualified, so they will have to give their best in that tournament. This means that, as every time Italy has not qualified directly for the Olympics, the team will have a bad result in Paris. At best, a decent VNL and elimination in the quarterfinals at the Olympics. Italy have always had bad results at the Olympics in general, also when they were qualified directly. I don't think that past results prove that much, anyway.

Correct.. they were even heavy favorites in 2008 and along came a hot USA … remember when Lindsey Berg jump served them off the court and out of medal contention … lol

Not that it matters, but sharing that Japan Volleyball Association officially dropped the name/monicker "Hinotori Nippon" (and "Ryujin Nippon" for Men's team) for the Japan Women's NT. No new name yet.

ORANGE! I hate that it's them and Canada duking it out for an Olympic bid because I really wouldn't mind to see either of them in Paris. Interested to see what the right-sides bring for the Dutch.

She's had an ass season save for the last few matches. With her and ZCN's return, I'm kind of excited to see what China's gonna have up their sleeves.

Croatia has released an incomplete roster that will begin training on the 22nd.
Setters: Lea Deak, Karla Antunovic OH: Josipa Markovic, Leonarda Grabic, Ana Burilovic (Colorado), Diana Karatovic, Mara Stiglic (will be at Utah State in the fall) OPP: Mika Grbavica, Nina Strize, Andrea Mihaljevic MB: Martina Samadan, Bozana Butigan, Ema Strunjak, Mirta Freund, Viktoria Ana Trcol L: Izabela Stimac, Matea Smoljan
I'm hoping we see some more names and this isn't the entire list because that OH pool is weak. It's weird to me that Pavicic isn't on this initial list since several of her club teammates are. Maybe she's not on it because she's older, but she should 100% be on the NT roster. I'm also hoping to see Mlinar, Cvetnic, and Jaksetic added to the roster soon. I'm happy to see Grbavica back though after a really bad injury. She showed so much potential before she got injured.
