I wish China and Japan had to earn their spots in a last-chance Olympic Qualifier like the old formats rather than the point system now that they have earned enough ground in to keep their spots. I know why it exists (and I'm definitely not mad at it, there could be worse systems). But it would be interesting to see if Belgium/Germany (or whoever doesn't make it of Netherlands/Canada) or any other Olympic hopeful could string together some big run in an Olympic Qualifier. I mean, both Canada and Netherlands beat China IN China in the 2023 Olympic Qualifiers. They could beat China again at the VNL in 2024 and still not qualify......If Cai Bin is smart (or at least the pressure is applied to him from the volleyball federation in China), he will not let that happen again. This year is crucial for China, he won't tolerate slip-ups like those losses again. Then again, as his critics in China likes to say, his (lack of) coaching ability means that may well happen again. But as you say, it wouldn't really matter all that much in the end, at least under the current system.

Yep Donphon Sinpho also plays OH! Natthanicha Jaisen is probably going to be the 2nd setter, but I think Kanakporn could be someone to look out for in the future. I liked her at the U19 championships. She felt like a mini Pornpun.

my translation might be wrong but was it not the B&H head coach that said she could play for her preference of national team?

USA turned down an invite to the U17 world championships next year (for whatever reason)
They're gonna be hosted in Peru.
CAVB had issues with their qualification... so Thailand and DOM will receive invites based on their U19 ranking.
Women's U17: Peru (host), Argentina, Brazil, Canada, China, China Taipei, Croatia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador , Egypt, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Thailand, Turkey.
