I like Washington too. While their schedule is weak so far, what I like is that they have pounded all their weak opponents. So they are doing exactly what they are supposed to do to lesser competition. having seen both nu and uw this year. right now, the dawgs are, in my opinion, the toughest team the wahine have faced... come on folks, they have'nt lost a game this year..every game was a sweep.... including two on the road with the wahine(the #6) and at home against arizona this past week. if they get by cal and stanford, they will be #1 in the polls.

If they "get by" Cal & Stanford? ............ They're going to crush Cal & Stanford. By the way, I predicted that they would sweep Arizona with one game being at least 30-17, and guess what, they swept Arizona and one game was 30-17.

Also, whichever OH is not hitting against Courtney, (Either Richards or Barboza) will hit less than .100 for the match. Thats my two cents.

Story of KRichard's life (ok, season... but doesn't have same ring to it). Barboza continues to tee off against smaller blockers however and Stanford takes to 4 games at least.

Consider the following: 3-0 sweeps over: Gardner Weber, Montana St., Trinity Western (where the hell is that at), Davidson, Portland, ND State, Wisconsin/Green Bay, and Sam Houston St. Now obviously these wins are something to semi-brag about. Wins over Arizona, Arizona St, Hawaii, and Washington St. On the other hand NU's wins include: Stanford, Penn St, Hawaii, Pepperdine, Minnesota, Ohio St (I'm guessing most people know where these teams are), Iowa St., Texas A&M, Pacific, Michigan and Oklahoma. With that being said Washington's next four matches along with the Arizona win will probably take away some first place votes. (wonder where those would come from ) I think that Stanford match is a key match. They are much improved since they played NU in the second match of the season.

I know Washington and Nebraska are good, but against UW, the Wahine could have possibly beat them, maybe not twice, but at least once.
Against Nebraska however, I was extremely suprised by how good they were; by how much better that 6-2 made them. Suprised by Larson, JenS, their backrow, and most esp. Houghtelling!
I must say though that for UW, it wasn't so much Morrison, nor Haggerty, nor Tomasevic that scared me... it was in fact DEESING!!! She is a monster hitter.
The only one that could probably stop her would be herself, or Logan Tom.
Both teams are no doubt talented, but when it comes down to the nitty gritty, Washington's mental toughness will prevail.

This week should tell us quite a little about where these teams are at as we get to about halfway through the regular season. The toughest part of the schedule playing in one of the "Big 3" conferences is on the road at other teams in the upper half of the conference. Nebraska has Missouri at Columbia on Wednesday who look to be the Huskers closest challenger in the Big 12. And Washington has Cal and Stanford on the road - their first major road tests in the Pac 10. Sweeps by either team seem unlikely.
