I'm mostly afraid that Barbolini and Bonitta are gonna take one taste of American pasta and bread and then be on the first flight back to Italy. We have meat balls on our spaghetti. They'll love it. ohh yes the monstrosity that we created...

is there any inkling of who from pvf is planning to sign with lovb or is it something we’ll only know at the end of the pvf season? I've heard from more than one person that Claire Chausee will not resign with Grand Rapids and is planning to play for LOVB Madison, which is closer to her home.

Is there a schedule of when they release where the players will go.. or is there some sort of draft? Are they letting the players decide where they go, like whats the deal? I'm confused about this whole thing. It sounds like players will give their preference, but its not guaranteed. They want balanced teams. Not 100% sure who is doing it, but its people within the league. I dont think the coaches are involved. Do we have any idea if there will be trades or free agency? I'm just thinking if the league is assigning players to teams and wants balance, what's stopping them from taking the best team's best player and putting them on the worst team to even things out?

There's no trades for the first season according to Tom Hogan. Im not sure about "free agency" into season 2.

Trades to whom? While each LOVB team will have local coaches' offices and offices for local ticket sales and promotion, volleyball operations for all of the teams is out of Anaheim. The GM for one team is the GM for all of the other teams, so, theoretically, what you propose is very possible. It's also very possible that while the league claims their goal is parody, there's nothing stopping them from favoring certain markets. I won't lie. One of my favorite things to do, with my tounge firmly in my cheek, is claim conspiracy and collusion in pro sports ("Detroit vs Everybody" in the NFL, slanted 4th quarter foul calls in the NBA, etc). It's taking an amazing amount of willpower to stop myself from doing it against the Supernovas in the PVF. But, if Omaha and Atlanta are also at the top of the standings in LOVB, I'm going to be a major troll.

I have to assume that at some point during the process they will give some of that power over to the individual teams/franchises. The entertainment value of a league that has one GM has got to be a major concern. That GM could tell the Madison coach "You have to lose to Austin on opening night or I'm taking Carlini and giving her to Salt Lake next season and firing you." I'm down to go down this rabbit hole with you if there's no restructure at any point.

Do they sell off the franchises separate from the local junior clubs? To date, everything about LOVB screams roll-up/amalgamation, but I guess the investors need an exit and it's probably easier to hive off those teams.

(would fit in with keeping pro/club separate)
