I know Xavier lost some good players but, losing to App State, Ohio, Illinois State, and now Army?? is that that weird ? They weren’t like good before and like those programs are like the same level as Xavier imo

Ohio/Army are matches they need to win for the BEast. they're rival top 100/150 teams.

too bad Stanford doesn't have a match today, we can't watch Kendra Wait outblock their entire team yet again.
(Creighton up 13-9 early on K-State)

I was just hoping for them to not be an RPI negative lol

Mountain West fell even further. Ivy League also fell down, and the SoCon strangely had a good record and fell slightly, just barely behind BEast now but against more cupcakes for sure. MAC is down bad too. WCC also still not looking good.

This is still significantly behind 4th (Big 12) at .705. Last year's Big East non-conference win % was .5931 in what was generally considered a good year for them. There is still a bunch of non-conference games left, so it could change for the better, or for the worse.

St. John's finishes 11-3 non-conference. Not a ton of quality wins, but no bad losses (ASU, Penn State for two) but UCSB is a bit of a question mark as to where they'll finish in RPI. Maybe San Diego or Duke pans out as top 50?
Either way - good for the Big East. Especially considering St. John's was without Walther today and escaped Bryant, they had also been missing Lodi for other matches. Maybe having some injury issues.

DePaul wins their Big East Home Opener (3-1) vs Xavier. It's a good thing. Xavier and Butler can split against each other, but for the benefit of the conference, they need to go 0-fer against everyone else. Neither scheduled well and also did terrible in the non-conference.

The Big East is a true double round-robin, right? It doesn't really matter if Xavier/Butler win/lose against Providence or Georgetown then, for example. The most important part is that Creighton, Marquette, and St. John's don't lose to anyone else besides each other, and maybe you can throw DePaul/UConn in that grouping. A minor factor could be wanting to max out the number of Top 100 RPI teams, though I think the 51-100 RPI category doesn't really come into play except for at-large teams on the borderline, and the fact that a 51-100 loss generally isn't viewed as bad as a 100+ loss.
