1. Nebraska-They have possibly the best player in the nation in Pavan, 2 other first team AA's in Larson and Elmer, one of the best defenders in Jen, and many other quality players. They have dominated competition so far, and their only close match has been at Minnesota.
2. Washington-very talented and very dominant so far. Any player hitting under .400 is bringing down the team hitting %. They swept Hawaii 2x in Hawaii, but I don't think anybody knows exactly how big that is because Hawaii hasn't performed like a top 15 team so far. They beat AZ in 3 which is impressive, but they haven't sold me yet, I'm waiting until they play Stanford to see how good they really are.
3. Stanford-very young with a soph setter, and their 2 leading attackers as frosh, but they are phenomenal. They are definately championship contenders, Foluke is very explosive, and Barboza is incredible. They lost in 3 at Nebraska, but they have won every other match. By the end of December I could see Stanford with another championship.
4. Penn State-They have solid hitters and one of the nations best setters, so they will be a team nobody will want to face in the NCAA's.
5. Florida-one loss team, and it was in 3 to UND, but all 3 games were close.
6. Louisville-I'm not sold on them, they haven't faced a tough opponent yet, but their record is too good to leave them off.
7. Mizzou-swept Wisconsin and are undefeated. Nebraska will either prove that Mizzou is a top notch team, or that they are not.
8. Wisconsin-very complete and balanced team. They've lost to Mizzou, but have beaten UCLA, Purdue and Minnesota. They are very talented and very well coached.
9. Minnesota-very talented at every position, and Gentil has been fantastic as expected. They are definately a championship contender, and they pushed both Wisconsin and Nebraska to the limit in 2 tough 5 game matches.
