What a show by CSUN up at the farm. The Matadors hit .383 as a team with freshman OPP Phillips going off for 19 kills on 34 swings with only 5 errors (.412). Likewise Hobus having his own light show hitting at a .415 clip with 22 kills on 41 attempts with only 5 errors. Walters and Tello contributed 11 and 8 kills hitting .333 and .636 respectively. Just an outstanding show of efficiency and power by CSUN.
What the stats don’t show is how CSUN was able to force Stanford out of system consistently with tough serving. So although the stats only show 5 CSUN aces, Stanford’s hitters were consistently attempting to side out off sets coming from difficult locations (back court, off the court). Resulting in only 28 assists for Lietzke compared to 52 for Constable.
Just an outstanding night for Theo and CSUN.

I just want to point out that over the last three seasons that CSUN and Stanford have played each other twice each year and CSUN holds the win advantage 4-2 and a 3-1 record with W. Rottman on the court. Nevertheless, you win or loss with what you have available.
