I know we have a few on here who do a tremendous job with smaller outlets, but how do we help get the boys game more exposure nationally at the club level? VolleyTalk mainly remains coaches and directors, but I remember a few years ago PrepVolleyball, PrepDig, VolleyballMag, and even VballRecruiter who are all major girl outlets did some monthly coverage which was awesome for the guys. Just did a quick search on all of those sites and they have removed all boys tabs they once had.
KP does a lot on Social Media and Vinnie works his butt off for the college game. Wonder how the minds we all have collected here could invest in something like that. Subjective opinions are great for exposure and the game.
Would love to see subjective club team votes, recruiting classes, all of that, tournament recaps outside of VolleyTalk. We live in a digital world now!

Money. Most people who cover MVB are doing it as part of a passion project. Additionally, toxic vitriol that gets tossed around on here and other platforms for people who are providing that coverage doesn't help grow the game.

Granted it's about pro wrestling but it's applicable to any sport:

The boy's/men's side is the smallest fractions of that. If people that are interested in following boys/mens grow and/or they are more willing to pay money to follow, it will improve. I think there is some very slow movement but it is 2 steps forward, one back, then 1 forward and 2 back and a chicken and egg deal. The toxic vitriol toward media I have not noticed much, unfortunately I think because there is not the interest and wide spread passion that feed that. The women's side has much more of that, so does beach. Most fans on this site are coaches, players or parents of players. I think OTB, FJ, Vmag and others get respect on this site and occasional teasing in the form of corrections to content but not what I see as toxic vitriol. The toxic vitriol is generally member on member. What do others see?

You should stop by the D3 thread, tells a different story when it comes to toxic vitriol lol My take on the D3 thread is that there are several silly players and/or ex-players that have passion and also entertain themselves by stirring the pot and being ridiculous. Some people take it seriously, but most ignore. The amount of ridiculous posts is down this year, I think they are funny and they should be easy to ignore and realize they are not serious. I probably have an odd sense of humor but that is why I will read teh D3 and the NAIA threads. I think FJ gets far more love than hate but as long as both are reading their content FJ should appreciate it and keep providing content that people want to follow. What is more valuable to professional journalists, atta-boys or readers?

What is more valuable to professional journalists, atta-boys or readers? The crux I have is the term "professional journalist". I certainly don't claim that when I make my posts on here or contributions to FJ. Hell, I think I started most of the "D3 in..." threads during my vacations. When I was in school, I always wanted to know what was going through a coach's head when he filled out his weekly ballot. And for a while, I enjoyed bringing that to the forum. But then the negative comments, personal attacks, and occasional DMs just became too much (in conjunction with a few changes in my personal life as well). Heck the AVCA made the decision to privatize all ballots this year. And you are correct, I'm sure more people appreciate and praise then the negative ones. But it is called "the vocal minority" for a reason.
