Chris has to talk a lot, to fill the empty air. Pretty sure if he took the time to be thoughtful he'd reconsider much of what passes from his lips. But who knows. Maybe not. Maybe he really is that fool that believes that Hawai'i played as well as they can play and will ever play last night. Peaked. Oh my. These days you hear him repeat the same things every week or say some things you know he just made up. It's hard to say since I've heard him for so long, but it may be time to replace him. I'd prefer someone with some recent playing experience to explain some of the nuisances & strategies of today's game Someone like Karch? Don't believe that there are many other commentators in Hawaii who fit the recent experience criteria. I prefer Chris over any crew that's on ESPN.

I'm also not sure how the nuances of the game we see today just came out of thin air and are so different from what fans saw before. The rules have changed and loosened up, the game is faster, the athletes have more available to them in terms of training and recovery. These are normal, logical steps forward that someone like Chris who has coached and trained athletes for a long time, can follow.

Normally at home matches, so I'm just watching replays. I witnessed it, so I'm checking out what the camera saw that I might have missed.
C-Mac and Leahy are better than most when calling a volleyball match. But after years of listening to it, I now prefer the mute button about 50% of the time. When Leahy stops calling the match and starts spieling his opinions, mute. When C-Mac gets ridiculous, mute.
Granted, the announcing and color analyst gig need to amplify/generate interest, especially in match lulls. Sometimes filling the dead air with over-the-top superlatives and unicorn thoughts. Offering storylines that wouldn't get them hired as anything but entertainers. So, they've got the right job for what they have to offer. But I no longer take either of them very seriously.

I have been out of the country and cannot watch any games on ESPN live so just got to watch the replay in YouTube. Wow, what a crazy and fun match! Chakas went God mode and Todd quietly had a very solid game/weekend. Chakas definitely deserves the NPOW.
With the numbers that Todd is producing this season (and hope that he can maintain them), is he gonna go from the bench to the first or second time all American? That’s just insane to think about it.

If he can keep this up, he is for sure deserving of an all-American certificate. It would also speak volumes regarding the coaching staff and their ability to develop their players and manage their rosters.

Im surprised that Stanford would have these blow out sets. They can pass nails. They have the talent, but will then give away points in bunches. Hawaii played amazing but I think Stanford can upset anyone on any given day. Who are they missing?

Their passing seemed to be top notch and all of a sudden have bad connections on key plays or hitters hitting out on open nets.

One person, wouldn’t make any difference. For a top ranked team, there is zero excuses to go down 25-7. Especially on night two of the series. Touting accolades all day is smoke and mirrors. Stanford punched first both nights but endurance and the ability to make in game shifts is key to Hawai’i’s success. I’m tired of the haters saying”oh but this reason and that person and blah, blah, blah.” Stanford as good as they are, couldn’t handle Hawai’i’s counter punch.

Chakas has such a range in his shots. Watching his arm swing is just a thing of beauty.

8930 attendance last night. Is that turnstile or tickets issued? Turnstile You gotta love how Long Beach's 3rd largest crowd in LB MVB history is still lower than Hawaii's poorest attendance this season. Hopefully that atmosphere sways future recruits to the islands.
