How do people feel about the top 20? Some people say there is more exposure for lesser-known teams. Other people say it waters down the poll and takes away from validity. Will we eventually see it level out and the voters will stick with what they think regardless of outcomes?

Will we eventually see it level out and the voters will stick with what they think regardless of outcomes? It's like most things new. It will take some adjusting to it. But it's good for the sport. If you look at the poll's purpose, it could provide some PR/marketing benefits for the schools, which could bring more interest to the sport.

what's interesting is GCU received 5 1st place votes, and still went DOWN in overall points. Long Beach, GCU, and Hawaii all went down in points, UCLA the only one to go up. After watching both matches between UCLA and Long Beach, it's clear to me that they are likely the two best teams. UCLA won the 2nd match because they have a lot more depth in their roster. But in the aggregate, these two teams duelled to a tie. I think the correct ranking is Long Beach #1 and UCLA #2. But in terms of actual potential, UCLA is pretty scary.

LBSU did not look impressive to me on Saturday. Their OPP is inconsistent.

They looked better than other teams I've seen so far. With both matches being competitive, they brought the best out of each other as well.

And factoring in the records, that's why I said what I said. I understand GCU might have a better schedule, but their SOS is not enough to over-come the clear advantage in talent imo.

Yes let’s all bow down to Hawaii with their signature wins over… -Stanford without Rottman -A mediocre Ball State team -Loyola at home, at the very beginning of the year, only to immediately lose the next night -Now unranked PFW -Emmanuel Totally more impressive than UCLA splitting with Beach, and only losing twice otherwise both in five sets. Iʻd prefer Ucla at #2 rather than Grand Canyon You obviously must be new to the mens polls. GCU is currently undefeated. UCLA has more than a few unnecessary losses outside to LBSU. A win versus the Beach does not negate any of their past upset losses. These polls are not as subjective as one such as you may imagine.
