My favorite two paragraphs in that article:
Solutions on how to fix the Rainbow Wahine come nonstop these days. Some people have written letters to the newspaper, and others, such as former player Heather Bown, believe the team is too passive and the coaches too nice. Even Shoji has received "many" suggestions from the public in personal e-mail and letters this season.
"There's a lot of people who think they know what our problem is," said Shoji, who reads the letters and e-mail he receives, but does not respond because it would take too much time. "I think only in Hawai'i does this happen — that people are passionate enough about the game to write or e-mail me about how we can turn the season around, how we can be better."
GAWD PEOPLE! GET A FRIGGIN' LIFE!
There is NOBODY in the state of Hawaii that knows how to coach volleyball better than Shoji. Only people that might come close would be folks like Tony Crabbe (does he even live in Hawaii anymore?) or maybe Pete Velasco. I don't think either one of them would write to Shoji and tell him how to do his job.
So, to the rest of the amateur hacks out there that think they can coach better than Shoji, I have but two words to say to you:
SHUT THE HECK UP!
(Woops...that was 4 words...my bad).
;D

I can state for a fact he is wrong. Other coaches get this, too. Maybe not as many, but it certainly happens. And that's all I'm going to say about it ;D ;D

I'm sure many of those letter writers are regulars on this board!

There should be an email feature in this forum whereby a poster can elect to have his/her posts automatically sent to his favorite coach/player/poster of his choice via email. Or even text messaged via cell phone. That would be a nifty feature.

Pete Velasco ... no joke .. incredible volleyball coach, all of his players have the most wicked wrist snap. Everybody grab a tennis ball, let's practice!

And they said video killed the radio star...
