SC freshman setter looked pretty decent in the beginning of the year, tonight he looked so lost. The offense is so slowwwwww!
UCLA on the other hand looked crispy all over the floor tonight. Really nice all out effort by the bruins.

Don't know how USC got the #1 recruiting class with Nygaard running the show. Going out on a limb here, it could be having a diploma from USC and the value it brings for decades to come,

Going out on a limb here, it could be having a diploma from USC and the value it brings for decades to come, This! Because it unfortunately isn't because of the coaching staff or HC. Jeff is an awesome human being but for the love of Gawd.....can they please find another HC. They also will bring in another top 5 recruiting class next season!

But it’s not and that lies directly on the coaching staff. It’s easy to see why recruits go there and maybe Klein/Smith would have had to wait a year or two at some other top programs instead of playing immediately. This team will continue to improve but last night was a new low

i dont know anything about USC's program and its issues, but they're still the #9 team in hitting %. That's 3rd in MPSF. Are things really that bad?

Expectations at USC are higher than a normal program, and rightfully so. As someone said earlier, the academic/networking opportunities are top notch among volley schools, and SC treats their athletes better than any other volley school. This is baseline stuff that can bring recruits like Klien and Smith in regardless of coach. The right coach though should be able to take this unmatched support system and unmatched raw talent and turn it into something truly special. A coach's goal should be to maximize the players' and team's potential, a goal that Nyguard has consistently fallen short of. So yes, USC is still comparatively good at volleyball, and #11 in the country is nothing to scoff at, but they could and should be doing much more.

Not sure I see the unmatched raw talent on the court. Last night UCLA was so much more athletic and physical. At one point USC had a 6'2" and 6' outside on the court. UCLA hit right over and through the block.
