Volleyball and Hearing Loss

I figured I'd post this here to see what people think.
Amusingly, Facebook banned the blog for being 'a danger to cybersecurity'.

Is there a reason we don't really do anything to protect the ears of young people (or coaches and parents)?  I don't know many long-term coaches who don't have some sort of hearing loss.

Referees should be the ones with hearing loss. I officiated for many years and I am now suffering with tinnitus.

I lost hearing in one hear after my senior year of college. I used to wear one earplug while recruiting in my good ear because it was just way too loud. Even as a spectator I wear ear pro.
