This thread is a joke. Both teams were chirping the entire match, but hey that’s sports! ESPN reposts when teams start trash talking because it’s part of the game. If you want to point fingers, point them at the refs. They let it go on all game when there could’ve easily have been yellow cards given on both sides. But like I said this is sports!!!

Sunnydaze said it best. I was there and there was plenty of back and forth on the court which is normal. What WAS unusual was the amount of constant trash talking done by UCSB players and a coach from the bench, often right under the nose of the down ref. The referees could have maintained decorum and never did.

lol, it's mostly Hawaii fans in their feefees while 'butting in' and the usual judgemental routine they do, and on a match for which none of them were actually there. now that's the definition of being in ones feefees. and yes, if not for the 'butting in', it's 15-13 for the Beach comeback W, which is the story. aside form the sideshow Idk cry more I guess? This is not a real issue you are correct. I'm not crying about the issue. never was. I've just confronted those who tried to blow it up and point it mostly on Beach. those 'outraged' were predominantly Hawaii posters who made so many pontifications about it. which is par for the course. lol |

Just wondering, are other programs like this with the trash talking and escalating things further? Or is it isolated to specific players and circumstances? Team/program culture must have to do with a lot of it. Like I don't think I've seen teams like UCLA, Hawaii, Princeton behave like this but I could be wrong.

It's called the game within the game. Back in my youth in the late 80's at CSUN, we made sure opposing teams heard us and made it a raunchy place to play. |

R2 is a Gaucho and is a good ref. I will point a finger at him for calling an entertaining match and letting the boys play the game. No one got hurt, the team that played better won and everyone watching was entertained. What else do you want? Go crash a lecture in ethics at campbell hall if this was too spicy for you. |

The sh!t talk was back and forth all night. The postgame reaction and lack of respect from the LBSU European players (Sotos Siapanis and Lazar Bouchkov) was completely ridiculous and anyone defending that I find hilarious. Siapanis coming onto the UCSB side waving his shirt around and talking more trash was a complete joke I thought the Euro recruits would be more disciplined than that. Kudos to you American parenting |

Whole match is on youtube. Chirping on both sides for sure. Games like this are the most fun to watch IMO. What I don’t understand is how LB is allowed to bring that many of their bench warmers? They are like a fraternity with how many guys they have on that bench.
