The Outrigger was very entertaining. Hawaii dominated against Lewis and GCU and was then puzzled by UCI’s line up but managed to win, even against a phenomenal Henno. I wish the best to Chakas, great player as well. Long Beach didn’t win easy but ended up accepting to fight a very difficult and intense match with UCSB which played really well with a lot of heart. UCI’s loss with Lewis costed them at least one position but they have shown that they can beat anybody. UCLA seems to be finding it’s groove. Very good reaction by Lewis during the Outrigger after a traumatizing first set against Hawaii. Next week matches between Long Beach and Hawaii will be super exciting!

But with Spyros out indefinitely and Hawaii starting its conference play at LBSU where they have a history of struggling playing at the Mid....no go to player on the court to help even out the offense with Todd at the opposite side...I'll be surprised if Hawaii can even snag one of those matches at Long Beach. But I'm not hopeful especially with Spyros out. But even being not as hopeful....deep down inside I still believe as always and hope for the best.

Having watched most of the outrigger live I agree with these comments. The Lewis team is to be congratulated. Crowd is an underestimated factor playing in Hawai’i - it had the feel of Big Ten basketball game. Very cool to see men’s volleyball enthusiasts
