Ella Grimes is committed to Texas for beach volleyball! Also although Clarke played with a team of 2026s, she is a 2025 I believe, committed to Princeton in their 2029 class. Correct about Grimes being committed to Texas for beach. She’s also done with indoor and won’t be playing club going forward. Heard good things about her as an indoor defensive player. Any chance you think she might play both at Texas with increased scholarship options?

IMO Hickman and the Legacy middles are the top players left. And typically the longer they stay uncommitted the more likely it is they’re looking at Stanford. Although I don’t know if they would take two middles since they just took two last class, but I think either Nwabueze or Andrews would be a step up. Other really good players left I’m looking at are Udoye (Austin Skyline), Northern (Elevation), Jackson (Madfrog/Skyline), and Nguyen (Sudden Impact). Also Britni Silver is a talented prospect, I think she lead NC HS Volleyball in kills, but she plays basketball too so we’ll see how that works out.
I've now got Udoye and Silver added to our list. I'm seeing multiple players with the Jackson surname associated with Madfrog- which player are you monitoring? Thanks!

She is very skilled and athletic. She is undoubtedly good enough compared to her peers, today. Not sure where she’d be in two years without having played any indoor at all. I’d like to think she’d be good enough. But I’m extremely biased as she’s one of my all time favorite players.

Skylar, OH. the yearly DFW club volleyball carousel is in the process of spinning again but I think she’s back at Skyline now lol.

According to one of the coaches at A5 they see no competition in local tournaments. They have to go outside Atlanta to feel challenged. That gets expensive, especially considering most of the competitive regions are in the Midwest, Texas, Florida or California.

I'd also argue that NC Academy team belongs in this same conversation. A setter to Texas, an Opp to Georgia, two big and very serviceable MB's and a group of lefts that bounces every warmup ball over the chairs ...... and they tie for last at USAV. Noting that they had some close matches not go their way and some unfavorable tie breaks. But still, that 'talent' should have them in Bronze at least. Hell yeah let’s all just put some clubs on blast! A5 is the best club in the country and still underachieves. 6th largest metro area in the country, they are the only club in town, and they not only don’t win every age group every year, they don’t even put 2 teams per age group in Open? Dallas has a similar size metro area and has 5-6 nationally competitive teams in each age group. Kansas City has a third of the people as Atlanta and puts out 3x as many Open teams per age group. Step up your game, A5! Who’s next? I don't really think it's a club-specific blasting, but more a commentary on the region and the growth that still needs to happen. The east coast hasn't caught up, particularly in training at high levels, despite a significant increase in participation in the region. I also think Metro does itself harm by not attending Triple Crown to get their teams ready for Open level competition later in the season, given there isn't a ton of competition in the region for them. I understand why they don't go (their director owns a competing tournament), but it would be great to get them that high-level play earlier in the year.

I know it can get expensive to travel anywhere. But Florida doesn't seem like it would be the same kind of cost out of Atlanta, GA the other areas would be.

While Stanford is an option for Hickman for sure, them waiting has more to do with actually taking their visits and wanting to make an informed decision about where they will attend school.

I know for the last couple years, teams like Wave and A5 have played in the Tour of Texas tournaments.

I just assumed he was talking about the Atlanta area. He admitted they grab most of the top talent with their second teams so the local teams struggle to get talent. From what he said the A5 facility is very impressive and can handle a number of teams.
